The students, enrolled in a four-year program leading to a bachelor of science degree, chose the club's name in recognition of Mother Francis Bachmann, a Franciscan nursing educator in the United States. Library Gets Memorial Books NORWOOD Three memorial books, "The Complete Book of Needlecraft," "Carl Sandburg" and "Rickenbacker" have been received by the library. September book circulation totaled 897 with 967 circulated in October. During the two month period 41 new members joined the library and 68 adult and 46 juvenile books were added.

Albert A. Helker, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Helker, 914 Eisenhower Ridley Township, lias received the Legion of Merit Medal at a ceremony at Saigon, South Vietnam.

Helker, assigned to the 4th Transportation Command Headquarters, was cited for meritorious service while serving in key logistics assignments with the Army Chief of Transportation in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics at the Pentagon from January, 1964, to June, 1967. Helker was credited with developing logistics procedures that expedited the movement of material and equipment to Army forces deployed around the world. Helker, a 1950 graduate of Temple University, was commissioned through the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at Temple. He entered the Army in 1951 and arrived overseas last June. His wife, Kathryn, is living at Annandale, Va.

Clayton, Panama Canal Zone. McCray received the commeiv dations from the commander of the 559th Ordnance Co. on behalf of the commanding general of the fort. McCray entered the Army on April 12, 1966, and received basic training at Ft. Jackson, S.

and Ft. Gordon, Ga. He was assigned overseas in July, 1966. He was educatsd at Smedley Junior High School, Chester, and Sun Valley High School, Aston. He was employed at the Wayne Iron Works and Reynolds Metals Co.

Flatau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Flatau 509 Felton Collingdale, has been KENNETH FLATAU assigned to Paine Air Force Base, after completing technical training at Amarillo Air Force Base, Tex. Flatau was home on leave before reporting to his new base near Seattle. He was assigned to the 57th Combat Support Squadron at the Air Defense Command installation.

A 1965 graduate of Collingdale High School, Flatau attended Spring Garden Institute, Philadelphia, for two years before enlisting in the armed forces. Pvt. Steven H. Purdy, son of Mrs. Helen Acri, 3359 Carter STEVEN PURDY Lane, Chester, and Howard Purdy, of Gainesville, received a 20-day leave after completing antitank weapons training at Camp Lejeune, N.

C. Steven Purdy will report to Camp Pendleton, Calif, this month for additional training. Steven Purdy, a graduate of Chester High School, attended West Chester State College prior to enlisting in the Marine Corps in June. Hearing Set by Planners PROSPECT PARK The bor ough planning commission will conduct a public hearing at 8 p.m. Nov.

21 in the Masonic Hall, Lincoln Avenue, to explain the recommendations contained in its comprehensive plan, which has taken five years to complete. The plan was submitted to borough council last week. Planning Commission Chairman A. L. Tillman said this is die first study ever conducted for the borough.

It describes areas that seem to require attention and suggests possible solutions. Borough council, planning commission members and other borough officials will be present to answer questions. Tillman said Prospect Park is at the crossroads. The ever- increasing pressure of urban development has steadily taken the open spaces which for years had been characteristic of Prospect Park. At the same time, the completion of newer and larger homes and communities to the south and west have caused emigration among middle aged persons which will continue to be significant to the future of Prospect Park, he said.

He said he hoped borough council and residents will agree with the recommendations contained in the plan. Tonsils Out At Later Date WEYMOUTH, Mass.
