020 HOUA1S. for rent, modern con-veniences. 624 Up. Second. 020 The first admission that Angus Grant lost money on the Evas in 1910 was made Wednesday by Donald A.

Grant, secretary of the Evansville Baseball dub, and a brother of fcae owner. The deficit has not been given but it was not enough to cut in; Aggie's ambition to put Evans-ville on the map as a good baseball town. At the end of last season Grant did not want to make a howl about losing money on the team because he feared that the fans and citizens would presume that lie was not a red blooded sport. So he gamely put on a simile and gave out the dope that he had come out about even. It is not Grant's desire now for the aforesaid reason, to let it out that last year's team failed to bring in the mazuma but it has become so well known Jn baseball circles that the secvet cannot be cold-storaged longer.

Besides it is a settled fact that if the team does not pay this year Grant Bros, will not handle it next peasou and Evansville may be without a baseball head. The Grants realize that three things are going to be factors for the success of the team. Foremost ly, they must get started right and keep in the first division near tshe top. Ionald Grant admits that much. Seconly, tSiey will have to economize In places where it will not injure the team's efficiency and, lastly, the fans must be made to realize that organized baseball is a commercial enterprise that requires the wherewithal.

To assure a good start Aggie Grant has already reached the decision to use tried players where they are working well-He believes Chey will be more dependable. For that reason Tienian, Grefe, Sterzer, Cantwell. Dugger, Sager, Hadley and the remainder of the old heads named Tuesday by The Press, are favorites in the betting to stick. There will in all likelihood be less than three recruits remain when the pruning job has been completed. PACKEY WINS AGAIN nv FOR SALE Flrst-clasB family horse, city broke.
