Post of the North Carolina Tuberculosis Association, effective June 1. Born in Chester, Venable attended Episcopal Academy and was graduated from the University of North Carolina. For the past three years, he has been a field secretary for the North Carolina TB Association, working In the western part of the state, He succeeds Frank W. Webster as executive secretary of the state association. Announcement of Venable's appointment was made byi Elizabeth Smith, of Goldsboro, member of a special committee which made the selection.

Five Seniors At Swarthmore Get Scholarships Swarthmore High School have been awarded scholarships valued at approximately $1,100, It Is announced by Frank B. Morey, supervising principal. She will attend Antioch The $250 Chorus Scholarship was awarded to Christine Ford, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Henry Ford, 47 Amherst av. She will enter Duke University. The Baccalaureate Scholarship of $100 went to Ida Mae Lewis, who plans to attend Boston University, and George F. Dunn Jr.

recieved the Senior Class Scholarship of $100. He will enter Penn State in the fall.
