Dale Sowers and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Spilde of Minneapolis entertained their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Schnuelle at the Cliff House, De corah in honor of their 29th wedding anniversary.

An anniversa ry cake was served. Miss Deborah Schara, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schara of Austin, Minnesota and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Fred Schara of Postville was crowned "Miss Austin November 14 before a crowd of over 3,000. She then went on to compete in the Miss Minnesota Universe Pageant where she was selected as 3rd runner up. Debbie is a sophomore at Austin State Junior College. Becky and Linda LaVelle spent the weekend in the home of their mother, Mrs. Ralph LaVelle.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Voelz and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Schrader and family spent Thanksgiving Day at the home of Mr.

and Mrs, Louis Schrader and family in Central City. Bud Schrader and family of Kanawha and Bill and John Schrader were guests Saturday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Voelz. Mr.

and Mrs. Harley Radloff, Sr. returned home last week Monday from Mesa, Arizona where they had taken Mrs. Henry Radloff, who will spend the winter there. They also visited with Mr.

and Mrs. Bruce Radloff and Robbie in Tempe. Gene Winter of Cedar Rapids visited several days last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al' Winter and with friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Al Winter were Thanksgiving Day and Friday guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Mason and daughters at Mason City.

Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Looney and family were guests Thanksgiving Day in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Koecke and Loren at Bagley, Wisconsin.

Renee Schmidt was home from Allen Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Waterloo, over the Thanksgiving holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burling and family and Mrs. Myrtle Aitchison spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Columbia, Missouri with Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. John Gutz of Cedar Rapids and Dick Falb, dental student at the University of Iowa, spent the Thanksgiving holiday in the parental John Falb, Jr. Miss Kathryn Coyle of Minne apolis, Alan Tinker, student at Southwest Missouri State, Springfield, Missouri and Miss Barbara Tinker, student at the University of Iowa, spent the Thanksgiving vacation in the Dr.

D. E. Tinker home. Mr. and Mrs.

Hubert Luhman and Valerie, from Drake University of Des Moines, were Thanksgiving Day guests, in the Larry Gunhus home in Cresco. Mr. and Mrs. C. W.

DeGarmo and family were in Mason City for Thanksgiving in the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Lowell De Garmo and family, Louis Hill Jr. and Harry Gil lespie of Cedar Rapids and Arbe Behrens were Thanksgiving Day guests in the Louis Hill home David Lamborn of Iowa City, who has an assistantship teach ing position at the University of Iowa and is working for his Masters degree in mathematics, spent the holiday with his family, Mr. and Mrs.

Donald Lamborn and Lisa of Postville Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Turner and family were Thanksgiving guests in the Fred K. Bruene home in Gladbrook, while Mr. and Mrs.

Lloyd Putnam spent the day in the Donald Rest home in Glad brook. Mr. and Mrs. William James of Ames and Mr. and Mrs.

Robert James were holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kermit James Miss Olive Grinder spent from Wednesday until Sunday visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harvey and family in Racine, Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Millard Mork of Albuquerque, New Mexico are house guests in the home of Mrs. Mork's mother, Mrs. Flora McNally, and are visiting other relatives and friends.

Robert Burling and Vernon Gericke will attend the Iowa Tax Institute in Des Moines from Thursday through Saturday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Embretson and family of Iowa City spent the Thanksgiving holidays in the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Darwin Neiman Fredericksburg moved to Mr. and Mrs. Eldean Drewes and girls, accompanied by W. H. Drewes of Forest City and Mrs.

Fred Pepper of Marshalltown spent Thanksgiving until Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arth ur Trudhom and sons in Arling ton, Illinois. Dr. F.

C. Swella and Mark of Spillville and Dr. and Mrs. E. Swella and children of Deeorah were Thanksgiving dinner guests at the Fred Pflster home.

Louie Erickson left November 20 for Jacksonville, Florida, where he will accompany his sisters, Mrs. Irene Speece and Mrs. H. E. (Lillian) Lang and their families for a weeks vacation in Jamacia.

Mrs. Lang's husband, Cmdr. Lang will also join them in Jamaica for a few days. Cmdr. Lang is in command of the air base at Guan- tanomo Bay, Cuba.

Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Douglass spent the Thanksgiving weekend in Bellevue, Nebraska with Captain and Mrs.

Barney King and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Moore and family of Aurora, Colorado were also guests. Enroute home Monday they called on Mrs.

Gail Kozelka and Mark Miene, students at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota spent their Thanksgiving vacation in the parental Ed Kozelka and Otto Miene homes. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Eder, of Iowa City visited in the George Eder home during the Thanksgiving vacation. Florence Hoth spent the Thanksgiving Holiday in Racine, Wisconsin with the William Behrens family. Mr.

and Mrs. Burr Cook helped Mr. Cook's father, Perry Cook, observe his 91st birthday anniversary last Wednesday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Geiger at Waterloo.

Mr. and Mrs. Burr Cook were weekend visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garry Carman and Janet in Elgin, Illinois.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cayton and of Maquoketa visited Friday and Saturday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Anderson.

Diego. He was buried in Holy Cross cemetery. The deceased started his career in Postville depot learning his telegraphy under A. W. Bush.

He lived in Mason City from 1919 to 1952 and was chief dispatcher for the Milwaukee Road. Mr. McDonald was born May 2, 1897. Following his residence in Mason City, he was special assistant to the general manager of the Milwaukee Road from 1952 to 1960. He retired in December, I960, after 48 years of service, On August 13, 1919 he was united in marriage to Pearl Ham mel, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. John Hammel. Survivors incluae his wife. Pearl; one daughter; four sisters and one brother, including Mrs Eleanor McNeil. Pirate Grapplers To North Tourney North high of West Union will host the Invitational wrestling tournament on Saturday, Decern ber 5.

4-H'ers Prominent At National Congress Rites Held For Former Resident F. J. McDonald, 67, former Postville resident, died in San Diego, California on November 8.
