Result of Laos Crisis: SEATO Members Move Closer to Unanimity At least some of the men who helped organize SEATO will agree with members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee who have questioned its efficacy. Certainly, with its veto setup, the organization has never been able to reach unanimity on matters of any considerable military weight. As the House group points out, Britain and France have made small contribution. There have, however, been some accomplishments to offset what some call a waste of time and effort. It will be recalled that, before SEATO, the United States had entered into the ANZUS mutual defense treaty with Australia and New Zealand, English-speaking members of the Commonwealth, without By J.

France and to a lesser extent Britain Deaths Reported in Western N.Y. MRS. MARY MALESKI OVID-Mrs. Mary Stella Maleski, 86, widow of Matthew Maleski of Romulus RD 1, died Sunday night (May 27, 1962) the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lottie Osovski, also of Romulus RD, after a short illness.

A native of Poland, Mrs. Maleski had lived in this area for many years. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Ovid, and the Rosary and Altar Society. Surviving, besides her daughter, are another daughter, Mrs. Frances Lane of Reading, four sons, Joseph and Anthony of Ovid, Adam of Union Springs and Stanley of Romulus; two sisters, Mrs.

Kuleszo of Romulus Alphonse. Kathryn Rezler of Poland; 22 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Services, in charge, of the John Covert Funeral here, will be conducted a.m. Wednesday in the Osovski home and at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church.

Rev. Francis W. Harding, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. MRS.

ESTHER HYLAND CANANDAIGUA- Mrs. Esther Underdown Hyland, 82, widow of George Hyland of 25 Coy died yesterday (May 28, 1962) in Thompson Hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Hyland was a native of England, born March 21, 1880. She attended St.

John's Episcopal Church here and was a member of its St. Hilda's Chapter. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charles G. Figenscher; one grandson, Charles G.

Figenscher and one great-grandson, all of Canandaigua. Friends may call at the Kennedy Son Funeral Home, Canandaigua, today, and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Rev.
