Rotarians Set 'Minstrels' WOLCOTT -Following many weeks of rehearsals, the Wolcott Rotary Minstrels will open their annual twonight stand on the stage Leavenworth Central School, next Friday and Saturday evening. Many new specialty acts are being added for this year's benefit show, again under the direction of S. LaVerne Olmstead with Elaine McQueen at the piano. One vocal highlight will be the "Electric-Tones." a trio from the Rochester Gas Electric office at Sodus, consisting Don Pittman, Betty, Knapp and Marlice Littlefield. Fred Lucas, featured as baritone soloist in last year's show, will return in a dance number with his wife, Marilyn, a dancing instructor.

Miss Miriam Stuhler of West Port Bay will present a soprano solo in German. A combination will be the pond Quartette" composed John Kenney, Don Osborn, Doug Fitzmaurice and Judy Douglass. Black-faced endmen starring in humorous antics and songs will be Alex Bentley, Russell Dunton, Dr. Robert Stuck, Donald Henner, Robert Terry and Walter (Nationwide) Dobbin. In addition, the audiences will be requested to join in a "sing along" series of familiar favorites with Director Olmsted.

A large male chorus will offer bass and tenor support. Tickets are now on sale by members of the Rotary Club, with reserved seats available at Wilmoth's Store. All proceeds will be used for community service projects of the club. Bloomfield Sets Scouting Meet WEST BLOOMFIELD After last week's turnout at the West Bloomfield Union School, another father and son Boy Scout planning meeting has been arranged at the school for tomorrow at 7:45 p.m. Nineteen interested boys appeared but with only three fathers volunteering to assist the new scoutmaster, and the hope that some men had not heard about the meeting, another meeting was planned.

Four additional volunteers to help in Scout activities are needed to form a new troop, and Edward C. Rhoney, district Scout executive, has stated that if no interest is shown at next Monday's meeting, no further efforts will be made. Rhoney, working with present Cub-Master Charles Ferran, mailed out 41 letters to local parents hoping there would be sufficient interest of adults to form a Boy Scout Troop in West Bloomfield. School to Mark Education Week HAMMONDSPORT The annual "open house" for parents and friends of the Hammondsport Central School children will be held in conjunction with American Education Week, Nov. 11-17, the PTA Executive Committee has announced.

Date of the actual room demonstrations and displays will be Wednesday evening, Nov. 14. This will take the place of the regular November PTA meeting, Arthur A. Chapman president said. Teachers have been requested to set two or three demonstration classes i in the elementary school and at the high school for the public's benefit.

The demonstrations will last for 20-25 minutes, Devello Frank, district principal announced. time of the various demonstrations will be announced to the parents that night. Other teachers not presenting demonstrations will be i in their rooms to meet and talk with interested parents. New equipment, physical facilities and other noteworthy objects or items will be called to the parents attention. The school will be open from 7 until 9 o'clock on that evening, Frank concluded.

PLAN SALES HAMMONDSPORT A rummage and bake sale spon sored by the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the First Methodist Church will be held in the Roswell-McDaniels American Legion Hall in Sheather Street, Friday, Nov. 9, and Saturday, Nov. 10, it is reported by Mrs. Wilson Brace, president. The rummage sale starts at 10 a.m.

both days and the baked goods will be featured on Nov, 9 at 10 a.m. Yates Boy Gets Top 4-H Award PENN YAN A Yates County 4-H member is the recipient of the top 4-H award for poultry projects in New York State. Eugene Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Pierce of Dundee RD 3, will have an expense paid trip to the 41st National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago Nov.

25-29. There his records will be submitted in national competition for a scholarship, according to Prof W. F. Pease, state 4-H leader at the College of agriculture, Cornell University. The poultry project led to building a pole barn housing 5,000 laying hens which Pierce manages and on which he keeps records.

For six years he has been a member the county poultry judg. team and this year placed fifth in egg grading in the state contest. His poultry program also brought him an award in 1959, when he won a trip to New York City where he was presented a plaque for being an outstanding poultry member of New York State. Pierce, a senior at Dundee School, this year won the Rice Foundation Award of $100. In addition to his poultry, projects.

Legion Auxiliary Plans Gift Shop At Bath VA Unit BATH The 7th District American Legion Auxiliary's annual Christmas gift shop at the a Bath VA Center will be held two days this year, Sunday, Dec. 2, for hospital patients and the next day for domicilary members, it was announced yesterday. Gifts are donated by auxiliary members throughout the district. Every center patient and resident selects a gift for his immediate family, to be packed and shipped by auxiliary volunteers.

All center residents will register for the gift shop Sunday, Nov. 18, and all gifts must be received by Friday, Nov. 23. All packages for the shop are to be mailed to American Auxiliary Gift Supply Warehouse, Bath VA Center. Cash donations for the program are to be mailed to Mrs.

School at Victor Sets Open House VICTOR Victor Central School Junior-Senior High School "open house" will be held 9 Thursday, according Nov. 15, to from an p.m. announcement from the Parents and members of the community are invited to visit area classrooms and meet the teachers. Members of the Future Teachers Club will act as guides, and will escort visitors to the different areas of the school.

Many rooms will feature displays and projects which students have been working on this year. A similar open house for grades kindergarten through six will be held Nov. 19. Ministers Plan Bath Meeting BATH The November meeting of the Elmira District Ministerial Association will be held 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Bath Centenary Methodist Church.

About 60 ministers are expected. Dr. Henry Budd of Elmira, district superintendent, will lead a general discussion and evaluation of the recent Syracuse area mission on discipleship. Women of the church will serve luncheon. Clergymen to Lead Retired Mens Club HORNELL Rev.

Earl R. Burdick of Canisteo has been elected president of the Retired Mens Club for 1963. He will succeed Ernest Baker of Arkport. The present membership of the club of 53 men includes 17 of the charter members. Following a luncheon, members of the club met with the women's senior citizens group for a program of slides taken by Mr.

Wayne 4-H to Hold Dinner Wednesday NEWARK -The 26th annual Wayne County 4-H Leaders Recognition Banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Park Presbyterian Church, Newark, according to Mrs. A Arthur Dean of Marion.

At this time volunteer 4-H 1 local club leaders will be honored. Mrs. Frank Beneway of Ontario, leader of the Around the Club 4-H Club will receive a leadership certificate for 33 years of service as dean of the Wayne County 4-H leaders. Other pins and certificates will be presented to 4-H leaders who have completed one to 25 years of volunteer 4-H club leadership. Winners of awards and recipients of travel scholarships will be announced at this meeting, Mrs.

Dean reports. Wayne County is the only county in New York State with such an extensively planned 4-H leadership award program, Mrs. Dean states. Good leadership is essential for successful 4-H club work, and the recognition and rewarding. of this excellent leadership is offered as a taken of appreciation for the 4-H leaders volunteer service to the youth of Wayne County.

Churches to Hold Pot Luck Supper ATLANTA The Church Cooperation Committee of this area, of which Erwin Folts of Cohocton is chairman, will sponsor a Get Acquainted Night and potluck supper in the basement of the Atlanta Presbyterian Church Friday at 6:30 p.m. Congregations of the Methodist, Presbyterian and Lutheran Church of North Cohocton, Cohocton and Atlanta will participate in the event, the purpose of which is to bring about a closer fellowship among the cooperating churches.
