Joseph was fluent in 8 languages, and held a Masters of Philosophy University of Muenster, Germany and a Bachelor's of Science in Food Chemistry from College of New Rochelle, NY. In addition, he attended seminary school at the Vatican in Rome, and later medical school in Madrid, Spain.

In 1958, he emigrated to the U.S. and worked as a research chemist for General Foods Corp. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 11th, 9:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 534 Oxford Street. PROFETTA FUNERAL CHAPEL Hale, David G. Age 56 of north Wilmington, DE, formerly of Rochester, NY, passed away on Friday, April. 7, 2006. Mr. Hale was born in Auburn, NY.

He graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. Mr. Hale served his country in the US Army as a military policeman. He worked for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and the Elmira Star-Gazette and Sunday 1 Telegram before moving to Delaware. David was employed by the Wilmington News Journal in various news and editorial roles.

He was an executive sports editor and executive news editor. Most recently, he was a copy editor, in the sports department. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas F. Hale. Survivors include his mother, Vesta L.

Hale; sister, Patricia A. Sapienza and her husband, Thomas; brothers, Robert T. Hale, Ronald W. Hale and his wife, Marcia, all of Rochester, NY, Gregory S. Hale and his wife, Sharon of Hillsboro, NC; and many devoted nieces and nephews.

Dave is also survived by many dear colleagues and friends including Kristie Moore and Barbara Selecky. A Funeral Service will be held at on Monday, April 10, 2006 at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401. Age 80, previously of Rochester, died on December 23, 2005.

Mrs. Howland, known to her friends as Johnnie, was born in Rochester, the oldest daughter of Howard and Sylvia Thomas. Mrs. Howland was a graduate of the Columbia Allen School and Vassar College. She married Elihu S.

Howland in 1951 and she and her family moved to the Chicago area in 1961. Mrs. Howland moved back to Rochester in 2000 and resided A at Valley Manor Apartments on East Avenue. When her health began to fail, she moved to a nursing home in suburban Atlanta. She is survived by her two sons, John of Marietta, GA and Tom of Stockholm, Sweden, her brother Bob of Rochester, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She joins her parents, her sister Nancy and her husband in eternity. Memorial services will held in the Chicago area and in Walpole, NH. "Deda" Adelia B. Kempf, 77 of Fairport, NY passed away peacefully on April 7, 2006. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Kempf, who passed away earlier this year. Deda was loving and vigilant in raising and protecting her family. She brought creativity, passion, energy and wit to everything she pursued. In the course of Deda's very full life, she taught special education, volunteered at her church, collected and restored antiques, became an avid creator and collector of American folk art and taught American folk craft.
