Coach Frank Casey is hoping this series of games will uncover some new material. At the close of the football season eight lettermen registered for basketball. They include Burtis Frey of Mingo, guard; Tom Sharpies of 1 a forward; John French of Maxwell, center; John McFarland of Mount Ayr, guard: Glenn Bowles of Indianola, guard; Glenn Shafar of Spring Hill, forward, and Dick Sbackelford of Algona, guard.

In addition there is George Bowles of Indianola, a letterman of two years ago, who will be available, playing at center. By WHITNEY MARTIN KANSAS CITY, on a foundation of five'members of a great Nebraska eleven, the Associated Press 1936 Big Six All-Star football team, selected with the advice of coaches, sports writers and other critics, combines speed, power and defensive ability in quantities which mark it as the irrestistable force in offense and the immovable object on defense. Kansas State placed three in the first team, and Iowa State, Oklahoma and Missouri, one each. Kansas, in the throes of a football depression, was not represented on the first team, but placed Dave Shirk, sophomore end, on the second. It was the seniors' year to shine.

Ten of the 11 men have played their last college game, and the eleventh man, Fred Shirey, Nebraska tackle, is a junior. Three men, all Nebraskans, are repeaters. They are Shirey, Lloyd Cardwell, halfback and Sam Francis, fullback. It was the third straight year Cardwell was chosen for the mythical eleven. Two Sentenced at Algona District Court by Judge Heald. first trial of the Kossuth district court got under way Tuesday and the selection of the jurors was made in the action of Ruth Corbet, Lake Geneva, against Harry R.

Jenkinson, administrator in the W. F. Jenkinson estate. The action is a result of an auto collision west of Algona a year ago last August when F. Jenkinson lost his life.

Many special activities are planned this week in connection with the new building, climaxed, course by the dedication ceremonies Friday evening.

Wednesday night is open house, when regular classes are held and Thursday evening an all school play, "Demon in the Dark," will be given. Has No Cross Light, The new building which replaces one destroyed by fire in February, 1935, is of the latest type in school architecture and design. The class room section, comprising one story and basement is 175 feet long by 77 feet wide. The power plant, shower rooms, locker rooms, manual training and home economics departments are housed in the basement. All class rooms are on the ground floor and so faced that all are lighted by east or west; light with no cross light.

In the center of the class room section is a low tower -in which is located the superintendent's office, board room, a teachers' rest room and wash rooms. The gymnasium-auditorium section is 85 feet long by feet wide and faces on the- other side'of the lot so that entrance may be made directly from the street rather than the building. Automatic temperature control and dual control make it possible to maintain a uniform room temperature and also to heat any part of the building without heating the remainder of it. a system operated from the boiler room. A clock system, signal system, inside telephone and radio outlets are provided in the wiring. Fixtures were designed especially for the building and are chromium plated brass. All classrooms are equipped with the wardrobes with built-in blackboards on the doors. Window sashes are of steel and interior is of birch stained a dark walnut which in contrast to the light wall gives a beautiful effect.
