Gets Buck With Bow ft Arrow Don DeOeoyer, Sioux Center postmaster, bagged this 200- pound buck with bow and arrow on the Rock river bottoms 15 miles west of Sioux Center about 7 a.m. last Thursday. Getting his deer with bow and arrow is no new experience for Don.

Within a six-year period he bagged five deer in this manner, but this is his first buck. The first four, taken in 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1963, were "does." Don sent an arrow completely through this prize animal He was couched in a tree when the buck, accompanied by another buck, walked within a few feet of the tree. The wounded buck ran a few yards with his head down and the other buck thought he was trying to charge him, and momentarily locked horns with him. Seconds later, realizing something was wrong, the other buck high-tailed it through the brush. Don estimates his buck to be three years old.

It has three-point antlers.
