at the clubhouse, Fiancee Advised to Reject Demands of Husband-to-Be By BEATRICE FAIRFAX Noted Attthorltr on Preble mi Dear Miss Fairfax: My boy friend and I are planning to be married next fall. He says if I really love him, it wouldn't be wrong to have an affair with him. I think an affair is morally wrong, but he insists that everyone has them. I love him very much, and I realize it is a way of expressing love, so I feel very confused. I need your help very much, and would like to have your Dear My opinion is that, from all points of view, you will be very sorry indeed if you have an affair with this young man, and I hope you will not allow yourself to be persuaded to do so.

The most important consideration is the fact that you believe such a thing is wrong, and if you do something you believe to be wrong, you will not only be very unhappy doing it, but you will have a feeling of guilt that might have disastrous -esults in your later life. A md important consideration is tha, any young man who tries to influence a girl he is supposed to love-to do something she believes- to be wrong is not a very worthy character. A young man of real character would respect the feelings of the girl he loves far too much to do any such thing. A third consideration is that, while it is obvious that sexual intimacy is "a way of expressing love," it does not express the highest type of love if indulged in under the furtive circumstances that are necessary when the two involved are not married. And a final consideration is the Dear Miss Fairfax: At 19, 1 have been married not quite a year, and my husband now tells me he has fallen deeply in love with another girl and wants a divorce.

I have tried to be a good wife to him, but he really doesn 't seem to care anything about me, and he is always picking a quarrel -with me for the most trivial reasons. My problem is that while it seems as though I would better off if I gave him the divorce he wants, I'm afraid love him too much to be able to go through with it. What would bs best for me to Dear W.L.t I can think of no more heartbreaking and disillusioning experience than for a wife of less than a year to discover that she has married a philanderer. For I am very much afraid that is exactly what your husband is. I do not believe he Is "deeply in love" with his present girl friend any more than it seems possible to believe that he was truly in love with you when you.

Cer very practical danger of pregnancy. How would you feel if that happened to you before you were married? Never forget that existing moral standards are more than a matter of "doing right." They have developed out of very practical reasons, for your own protection. tainly his behavior suggests tha he is a very weak character whose shallow emotions are likely to be swayed by one girl after another and never long held by anyone. Whether you think you still love this man or not, you are quite right that you would be better off without him, because you are only going to be a tragically unhappy girl if you try to hold on to him. More than that, if he really wants to go, as he has told you he does, you won't be able to stop aim.

You might far better preserve your own dignity by telling him that if he wants a divorce, you will not stand in his way. Hard as it may be to do this, you will in time get over it and be happy once more, while If you stay with the situation, there appears to be no chance of happiness whatever. year old on Feb. 10.
