Qome listen to your favorite Christmas stories and carols, read and sung by members of the community. Cynthia Cress will lend her talent as pianist for the occasion. 'Godspeir auditions set at Broadway Bound Kid's Art Centre Theatre and Broadway Bound School of Performing Arts will have auditions for the musical "Godspell" at 5:45 p.m.

Wednesday at the studio, 520 23rd St. in Galveston. Children ages 9 to 16 can audition for the show, which will be produced April 16 and April 17. Those auditioning should prepare an upbeat song or ballad, but should not perform a song from the show. Each person auditioning should bring the sheet music.

An accompanist will be provided. The singing auditions begin at 5:45 p.m. and each auditioner will be given an appointment time. "Godspell" callbacks will be Jan. 6.

Those who are not cast in "Godspell" will be cast in "Broadway Around the World." Clear Creek Country Theatre expands Clear Creek Country Theatre will expand its children's program when it opens at its new location at 18091 Upper Bay Drive in the Nassau Bay Shopping Village. Theater arts classes for children and teenagers at the beginning and intermediate level will be offered. In addition, a theater dance class has been added.

Classes are scheduled to begin in late January. Call (281) 335-5228 for information. Intermediate theater arts will be taught by Pat Kroft. Joan Peeples will head the beginning class. Christa Burley, who also teaches theater dance at the College of the Mainland will teach the new theater dance class.

In addition to the expanded educational program, Clear Creek Country Theatre will add productions for children this season. The theater plans to continue the popular production of his Broadway musicals using all children in the cast. Plays written to be performed by children and plays written to be performed by adults especially for children also will be included in the schedule. The theater has hired Thomas Rusnak as the architect to design the new facility, which will be more than 6,800 square feet with a proscenium stage theater, rehearsal hall, classrooms, office and workshop. The theater renovations are expected to be complete in January.

The opening show in the theater will be "Black Comedy" by Peter Shaffer. An exact date of the opening will be announced later. 'Othello' to open Jan. 14 at Strand Theatre William Shakespeare's plays return to The Strand Theatre this season with the timeless tragedy of the great and just Moorish warrior Othello, his vengeful office lago and the beautiful bride whose integrity is stronger than death. Led by Strand Theatre director William Burford, the play uses talent from Houston and Galveston and will open Jan.
