Figure skater Jason Dungjen has a concussion and a broken bone above the eye that forced him and partner Kyoko Ina to withdraw from worlds. He was injured at practice when Ina's elbow caught him flush on the forehead during a triple twist.

Rochester boxers on Buffalo fight card Rochester heavyweights Brian Nix and Larry Scott will fight on a professional boxing card in Buffalo tomorrow night. Nix (5-2, 3 KOs) will meet Robert Davis in a six-round bout and Scott (i-i, 1 KO) meets an opponent to be named at the Erie Community College Downtown Field House, 21 Oak Buffalo. Doors open at 7 p.m. The main event features Canadian heavyweight star Kirk Johnson (23-0, 17 KOs) while Buffalo hot prospect "Baby" Joe Mesi (4-0, 3 KOs) will make his home pro debut. Mesi was runner-up to Lawrence Clay-Bey in the 1996 Olympic Trials.
