Mixed Chorus and the Men's and Women's Glee clubs, in this 20th annual Christmas vespers program, emphasized the importance of the religious and sacred aspect of Christmas.

Directed by Alan Karstetter of the speech department, members of the Dramatics Club portrayed with short dance routines and pantomimes the songs caroled by the chorus. Another performance of the vespers program will be given Sunday afternoon for parents and friends. Also contributing to the overflowing Christmas spirit is another annual seasonal event, the Freshman Christmas Ball. Although open to all classes and faculty, the ball is entirely the responsibility of the freshman class. "An Old-Fashioned Christmas," selected by the class as its theme, will unfold this nasium.

Much of the artistic talent found in our newest class will be displayed in creating the atmosphere for the ball. Following tradition, this year's freshman class has nominated six freshman women for "Christmas Queen," one of whom will be officially crowned at the ball. The nominees are Jean Balcom, Marlene Grillo, Ellen Gibbons, Janet Gail Verity and Martha Willis. Aside from these Christmas activities, a "white elephant auction" will be held Sunday evening in the College Union. Kappa Delta Pi members, sponsors of this event, have been busy selling play money to all students interested in the auction.

Prizes and surprises have, been donated by students faculty members, and by famous personalities, including New York State Gov. Nelson Rockefeller, Vice President Richard Nixon, Sen. Hubert Humphrey, Sen. John Kennedy and Sen. Stuart Symington.
