The dining room features an 18th-century dining set, with filet net, drawn curtains on the windows, which give a light, airy appearance, retaining a view of the garden. The two bedrooms are done in a manner that offers a pleasant contrast with the adjoining rooms. The master bedroom is furnished in 18th-century mahogany, with ruffled window curtains that create a cottage effect. The second room is decorated in the English provincial manner.

The kitchen and service porch, which are ideally arranged for modern housekeeping, and scientifically designed for convenience, have linoleum 'floors, and the built-in cabinets in the kitchen offer a maximum storage space with a neat and efficient effect. The stove is a Spark with its many features including broiler and simmer burners, oven and automatic lighting. CAPWELL'S ftdmoor Although this Summer's flowers are still blooming profusely in most gardens, it will soon be time to start planning for next Spring's blooms. Many of the attractiva bulbs which-will bloom next March and April must be planned during September and the latter part of August, Many California gardeners are turning their attention to South African bulbs. Since the climate of that region is very, much like that of California, many of these bulbs do very well when planted here and give best results when planted early. The long development necessary for. these so-called bulbs Is due to the fact that many of them are not true bulbs, but A true bulb is merely a collection of dormant leaf bases.

Such bulbs are usually of fair size and even though planted late will develop quickly and bloom in a short time. A corm, however, is a mass of starchy food bearing at its crown one or more eyes. From these eyes new corms are formed which in their young stage live from the food stored in the old corm. The flowers are produced by the new corms. Since the production of a new corm and the development of a bloom is rather a long process, it is of great importance that these corms be planted early.

Most of them are rather small and deteriorate more rapidly than do the true bulbs. Perhaps the best known of the flowers grown- from corms are freesias.
