i Rev Laurance. 11:00 EASTER Easter ssLuts 8i "Christ alns, The underlying meaning of Easter is the resurrection of Christ, so fur as Christiana are concerned. But Easter has a far more extensive meaning than just a great show of piety by attending a church service during the day. It is the pivot about which the entire Christian system revolves, and therefore becomes the greatest feast in the Christian calendar. The Old Testament prophets looked for the coming of Emanuel, and Isaiah, with particular vividness, described the Crucifixion and anticipated the resurrection.

Jesus himself foretold his own victory over the grave. The authenticity of the Gospel record was never questioned but records show several groups and individuals saw Him after His resurrection. Men from various Walks of life, unbiased, gave their testimony as to what they saw and heard. Durant Park Sunrise Service 98th Avenue and Mountain Blvd. 56 the direction of Harrvjon Ward.

Say Dr. W. Earl Smith, executive ecretary of the union: "The adventure ha been one of significant importance in the' Baptist Churches. There has been a marked response an a fine spirit of unity although the emphasis has not been upon uniformity of action. "Along with all- Christian we reach the climax of our Christian program on the Resurrection Sunday.

Much of the Christian world is calling for unity, surely the one great unifying factor that will mean more to the world than anything else, is the united proclamation of the far reaching significance of the fact that Jesus Christ rose triumphant over death. That He, the first fruit of the Resurrection, is the hope for the believing world that we, too, through Him may live. "The emphasis upon this eternal truth must not be restricted to a single season of the year, but must be vigorously proclaimed as the heaTt of the Christian gospel throughout the whole year; not only by pulpit proclamation, but by living witnesses in whose lives there is an evidence that the transforming resurrection power of Christ is in right living her on earth a well as hereafter."
