OTHER ENTRIES In Montclair Highlands, a California modern home designed bj dential set 12 beautifully landscaped, furnished and architect-designed homes will open simultaneously for World's Fair visitors next year, showing throughout Contra Costa and Alameda Counties, the Eastbay's distinctive model homes in choice residential locations. The 12 homes, the Eastbay unit of Exposition Model Homes Tour, will make up a furnished exhibition home tour extending from Richmond and Lafayette in Contra Costa County, to San Leandro in Alameda County.

Each is designed by a noted architect, is approved by an architectural board, and is the product of study and experience on what constitutes the most desirable home for a given district. SCENIC TOURS Various tours by automobile and public conveyance, which will include, besides the model homes, the most scenic and interesting points in the two counties, are being mapped out by the Exposition Tours Committee of Alameda -and Contra Costa Counties. Actual locations of the homes and styles planned include, at Lafayette, in Happy Valley Estates, a California Colonial home designed by Earl MacDonald and entered by the Montclair Realty Company, with Arthur Cobbledick, landscape engineer; at Moraga Woodlands, a mod-era California-Colonial home designed by John B. Anthony, entered by Frew T. Wood in Mira Vista, Richmond, a Colonial home designed by Keith O.

Narbett, entered by the M. A. Hays Realty Company; in Park Hills, Berkeley, English Colonial home designed by Frederick L. Confer, entered by the John entered by Emge and Stockman; in the Le Mon arK section of Piedmont Pines, a French-Normandy home, built by R. F.

D. LeMon, and entered by the Capital Company; at Avenue Terrace, East Oakland, a Colonial home, designed by F. H. Slocombe and entered and built by Allen and Allen; at Oak Knoll, Oakland, a Swedish modern home, designed by Charles F. Maury, and entered by the David D.

Bohan-non organization; in New Broad moor, San Leandro, a home designed by Irwin M. Johnson and entered by Derry Brothers; and in Fernside Marina, Alameda, a modern nautical berg, built by George Windsor, and entered by E. S. Agnew. It is anticipated that some million visitors will go through these homes during the period from May to September' 15, 1939, when they will be on display.

Most of the homes will be furnished by local retail furniture stores, and in many cases special furniture is being designed, so that the May opening of the "tour homes will have the effect of a Spring Furniture Style Show. Special innovations in the way of modem building materials, kitchen design, heating, lighting, and elaborate landscaping, are being planned, so that each home will represent the ultimate in desirability when com pleted and Ten Months It each of the new housing units which the Federal Housing Administration has accepted lor mortgage insurance in Oakland during the past 10 months were set down side by side on an average-size city lot, there would be an unbroken row of new dwellings stretching a distance of over three miles, it Is estimated by D. Johnson, architect; (7) Chateau Longue Vue in the LeMon Park section of Piedmont race, Francis Slocombe, architect; (2) a home for North Cragmont entered by the Berkeley Real Estate Board and the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, J.

M. Walker, builder, and P. H. Hammarberg, architect; (4) Happy Valley residence displayed by the Montclair Realty Company, Earl R. MacDonald, architect.

Plans for home (3) in the Park Hills tract of the Mason-McDuffie Company and of (9) in Oak Knoll to be built by the David D.Johannon Organization, are not yet available.
