Opposing them on the Democratic slate for mayor are Robert E. Weir Jr. and trustees LaVerne Johnston and Howard (Jack) Chasey. The GOP village committee named at the caucus was Mrs. Murray Macomber, Charles Galbraith and William Whitmore, all succeeding themselves.

Senator Willard commented: "I congratulate the caucus on your candidates. I believe you have outstanding men and we are fortunate that they are willing to serve R. L. Peet Dies, Wyoming Ex-L Ex-Legislator PERRY Harold L. Peet, 68, who served as assemblyman from Wyoming County from 1951 through 1964, died Saturday in Roswell Park Hospital, Buffalo. He had been forced to withdraw gradually from public life nearly two years ago because of illness. Mr.

Peet's life had been singularly devoted to public service. His work in the State Legislature was notable chiefly from legislation sponsored on behalf of volunteer firemen. He often pointed with pride to new laws dealing with many phases of volunteer firemen's activities and benefits. In 1945 he was elected supervisor of his home town of Pike, and served as chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors in 1949. A year later he registered to become president of the New York Good Roads Association.

In 1950 he received the Republican nomination for assemblyman from Wyoming County and won handily.
