The damage was noticed by a homeowner Monday, police said. Vandals sprayed gang graffiti on a wall on the 100 block of Kennedy Drive Tuesday, police said. No suspects were known and a damage estimate was not available. Three youths threw a rock through a window of a house on the 100 block of Mora Road in Carpentersville Wednesday, police said.

Victims saw the youths running away, but no suspects were in custody. It was not known how much the glass was worth. A woman pumped $7 worth of gas into her Ford Escort at the Amoco at 695 Barrington Ave. in Carpentersville and fled without paying Wednesday, police said. Vandals spray painted graffiti onto the north and west outer walls of Sunnyhill School, 2500 Helm Road in Carpentersville, Wednesday or Thursday, police said.

East Dundee Burglars stole a generator, a wheelbarrow and a fax machine between May 9 and Monday out of a construction trailer at 401 Elgin Ave. in East Dundee, police said. The items were valued at $1,500, police said. During the same period, burglars also stole an extension cord, a conduit bender and a stereo out of a sewer treatment plant building at the same site, police said. No value for those items was given in police reports.

On May 12, management at Lube Pros, 870 E. Main St. in East Dundee, reported that someone had stolen a total of $160.67 from the business on separate occasions during April and May, police said. No charges have been filed. Lake in the Hills Someone stole a cellular telephone out of an unlocked car on the 1500 block of Crossview in Lake in the Hills Monday, police said.

The phone was valued at $300, police said. Elgin Two men tried to break into an apartment building on the 300 block of South Behnont Street in Elgin Tuesday at 2:45 a.m., police said. A resident of the building was awakened when he heard pounding and got up to see what the sound was, police said. The resident saw one of the men hitting the doorknob on the security door with a hammer and yelled at the two men, who then ran away, police said. Vandals smashed the rear windshield of a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am Tuesday while the car was parked on the 500 block of Gale Street in Elgin, police said.

Vandals shot a pellet through a 2-by-2-foot window in a home on the 300 block of North Jackson Street in Elgin Tuesday, police said. Burglars crawled through a window of a home on the 1100 block of Bellevue Avenue in Elgin May 12 to burglarize a home, police said. The burglars took an income tax refund check for $2,480, a $300 television, a $200 videocassette recorder and a $500 camera, police said. Burglars stole a television set out of an apartment on the 0100 block of North Gifford Street in Elgin May 12, police said. There were no signs of forced entry to the home and a key may have been used, police said.

Thieves stole a stereo, an equalizer, speakers and cassettes out of a 1984 Ford F150 pickup truck Monday while it was parked on the 500 block of Hammond Avenue in Elgin, police said. The thieves stole $950 worth of equipment and caused $440 worth of damage to the truck's window and dashboard. Police arrested an Elgin man May 12 on charges of aggravated battery and criminal damage to property after he broke a window with a bat at Yellow Cab, 58 Cherry St. in Elgin, where he had just been laid off, police said. Martinez, 24, of 431 S. Belmont St. also used the bat to hit an employee of the business three times, police said. The employee suffered minor injuries. Court and bond information was unavailable.

Police arrested an Elgin man May 12 on drug charges after he failed to cooperate with them on an investigation, police said. Ricky E. Frasure, 25, of 1287 Fleetwood Drive was arrested on unrelated charges Feb. 14 and found with crack cocaine, police said. Police did not file charges with the understanding that Frasure would help them in ongoing drug investigations, police said.

Frasure did not, and he was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance Monday. He was given a $10,000 bond-and a May 23 court date, police said. An Elgin man was arrested May 12 and charged with child abduction, battery and criminal trespass to a residence, police said. Miguel Sanson, 23, of 155 N. Porter St.

in Elgin was given a $50,000 bond and a May 27 court date, police said. According to a police report, Sanson showed up at a home on the 1200 block of Fleetwood Drive, pushed his son's aunt to the ground, went inside the home and took his son, police said. He was later arrested at his home, where the son also was found. Someone took a television and a watch, together worth $1,250, out of a home on the 0100 block of Summit Street in Elgin Tuesday, police said. A resident of the home suspects a friend may have taken the items, police said.

Thieves scratched a car window with a pair of wire cutters while they were trying to break into a 1982 Cadillac Dey- ille Tuesday on the 1000 block of Todd Farm Road in Elgin, police said. A witness saw two men running away from the car, but they were gone when police arrived. Police found the wire cutters next to the car, a police report said. Burial will be private. She was employed by the Illinois Department of Public Aid in the Elgin office, and was a member of ANAWIM Center, Native American Catholic Community, Chicago. She is survived by her sons, George Bresette and John Bresette, both of Elgin; her grandchildren, Adeana, Sean, and Ezra Bresette, all of Elgin, Win Humbracht of Elgin, and Meredith and Christopher Humbracht, both of Los Angeles; and her niece, Rogeria Starr of Elgin. He was employed by Illinois Tool Works for 33 years before retiring. He was a United States Army veteran, a member of Faith United Methodist Church, VFW Post 1307 of Elgin, the Elgin Bowling Association Hall of Fame, the Illinois Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and a member of the Illinois Softball Association Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his daughters, Pat Collins of South Elgin and Cathy (Jack) Nichols of Elgin; his son, Michael (Shirley) Collins of South Elgin; his grandchildren, Brad Nichols, Stephanie and Jimmy Collins; and his brother, Tommy Collins of Elgin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Evelyn Collins; and his wife, Darlene "Boots" Collins. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Laird Funeral Home. Haiges was a 42-year resident of the Dundee area, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Dundee. She is survived by her sons, William of Huntley, Robert C. (Shelly) of Algonquin and Lee A. (Deborah) of Dundee Township; 12 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Mabel (Little) Dibble; her husband, William R.

Haiges on April 1,1994, whom she married Feb. 27, 1943; and her grandson, Ryan R. Haiges, Sept. 7, 1996. Visitation will be Monday, from 1 p.m.

Born Aug. 23,1912, in Chicago, Mrs. Marik died Wednesday, May 14,1997, at St. Joseph Hospital. Survivors include her son, Thomas Marik, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born Dec. 14, 1921, in Harvard, Mrs. Richards died Thursday, May 15, Mempri-. al Hospital, interment will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery. A homemaker, Mrs.

Richards was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, and was very- active in many other church activities. She also enjoyed caring for the elderly. Survivors include her husband, Lindon Richards, whom she married March 4, 1995; her son, Thomas Orr; her two granddaughters; her six great-grandchildren; her stepchildren, Carol (Harley) Adkins, Lynne (Richard) Goetsch, Lawrence Richards, and Mary Richards; her three step grandchildren; her great-step grandson; her sisters, Adelaide Collins, Elizabeth (Larry) Lange, and Ann (Roland) LaPlante; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Robert Orr, whom she married Sept. 4, 1943, in Durham, N.C.

Monday at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State Elgin. Born Sept. 2, 1898, in Chicago, the daughter of Alexander and Amanda (Dern) Mooney, Mrs. Vosburgh died Wednesday, May 14, 1997.

Burial will be in River Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Batavia. She was a resident of Elgin for most of her life and was employed by the Elgin National Watch Company and Illinois Tool Works before her retirement. She was a member of the Woman of Moose Lodge Number 799 of Elgin, the College of Regents Member White Shrine Number 26; member and past commander of the Navy Cmb; member of the Lady Bugs of the V. F. W.

Auxiliary; Elgin Senior Center; the Woman's Relief Corps and the Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Myers, of South El" gin; 12, grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
