He participated in the mass drop in which nearly 2,800 paratroopers of the 11th Airborne Division's 503rd Airborne Regimental Combat Team and 1 160 tons of equipment were dropped from C- 119 Flying Boxcars in the vicinity of Talkeetna, Alaska, during II of the maneuver. The contestants for the contest will consist of one girl from the senior class of the each high school in the county. At the present time each of these schools is in the process of choosing their queen. The winning queen will be crowned "Miss Deputy Sheriff of 1955." The final choosing of the queen will be determined by five prominent judges. The names of the judges will be announced at a later date. The committee for the queen contest includes deputy sheriffs Jane Dennis and Dean Harrison.
