Vacation la coming, and oh! what splendid times we will be having going eut swimming ate- A big carnival came over to Dupont and It is very nice. My mother and I were there last night and I didn't seem to be lucky. I tried to win a wrist watch but I couldn't. My brother won a big box of blue cane and a big bottle of perfume which he gave to me. Next day I came to school all perfumed up.

There is a whip, merry-go-round, ferris wheel and chair planes. Editor, I think you would be afraid to take a ride on the chair planes and maybe not. For all I know maybe you. already were in an aeroplane. A man who works by the chair planes told my brother, Anthony to bring htm a pail of water and Anthony did it and the man then gave Anthony three free rides on the chair planes and also, one free ride on the whip.

There are also gypsies over there. I think that the little gypsy girls are very stunning. Pretty soon the parks will be opened and, oh! what grand times we will be having out in Rocky Glen, Harvey's Lake, San Souci Park and Hazel Park. My brother Alex and his friend, Chester Pulkowski, left this morning on an excursion to Bayonne, N. some of their, former Dupont friends.

Oh! what lucky boys they are. My brother Anthony got that she belongs to this wonderful club. I'wlll send a drawing and a story later. I am a pretty good drawer; I have some drawings home, but I am afraid I will not win a prize and I don't want them destroyed A true member, MARTHA PETERS. 855 Koszak Swoyerevile, Pa.

When you send any contributions in for a ape clal holiday you must have them In our office at least three weeks be fore the coming holiday. THE EDITOR. and my rleiid and I were invite to it. Geel talk about fun we had: there.

At first we thought that we wouldn't find the way to Carbondale, but somehow or other we did. That is the first time that I waa there My hand is tired of writing, but I will pretend that it isn't. I will live up to my motto. I sent Catherine ConBidine such a long letter that it was too heavy for a two-cent stamp and when it arrived at her home she had to pay the mailman two cents. You ought to see me laug'i when she told me that.

Of course If I knew I would have put two stamp on it, but you see that I didn't know. I always laugh when I receive a letter from her, simply because she sends It In a big special envelope. I don't blame her for doing this because when she writes a letter to me she makes sure It's long enough, too. I make her write me a long letter. If ahe doesn't I tell her daddy to spank her.

When the Junior Club member read my storie in the Junior Newspaper I advise them to do an important thing and that Is "think." When the reader Is reading a story and he "thinks" from the beginning of the story to the end, well. I should say that he enjoys the story better! The reason that I am saying this la because some members read only words. Everytlme I go to Pittston and I see a man with glasses well, I think, that it's you. Editor. Often times I wonder If you have any particular reason for not putting your picture in the paper, please, at least, tell us your name.

If you do that little favor for-us--we-m4ght-end-m more-and better contributions to the Junior Club. Editor, If I send In any stories that you think the titles are too long, I will give you permissldn to changed them. Enclosed you will find nn original story, written by me. The title of the story Is "Lillian." I hope that II. win mccv wiui ui.

uu. closed you will also find a poem, entitled, "Vacation Time." Please print It In the Junior Newspaper thia coming Saturday. That's all I am sending In for the Junior Club this week. Now" for my brother Anthony, he is enclosing In thia same envelope a story, entitled, "A Sad Departing." He wishes that he will win the prize for the best story or that you will print It Editor, I wouldn't be a bit surprised If Catherine Considine, Catherine Grigger, Mary Muroski and Lillian Kluchnlo would receive "Honorable because I think they are doing very good work and flily deserve It. They are ambitious contributors of the Junior Club.

Well, well, don't you think I lived up to my motto? I should say that I did. Did you enjoy reading my letter? I hope yotPdon't think it is too long to be printed and if you think it is too long, well, please excuse me this time and print it, and if you don't think it 1 too long. I will try to write more letters like thi one. I will be very much disappointed It you don't print this letter for I tried to write a long Interesting letter which will make the Junior Club members happy. I was a little bit disappointed because you didn't print the joke which I sent in to the Junior Club.

Writing stories and letters la my hobby. I hope you like It. My favorite sport is roller skating. I Just love it. Well, now I must close for sure for my letter Is entirely too long and besides you might think that I am a gosslper, because I wrote so much.

Good luck and best of success for the coming week to you and all the members of this club. An Interesting member. CATHERINE BARKOWSKI. Dear Catherine: Just had to take the morning off to read your wonderful, interesting letter, or shall I call it a book. I Just know that the members will en-Joy It as much I have and they and myself hope that you will continue to write long, interesting newsy letters io me junior newspaper.

THE EDITOR. Sugar Notch, Pa, Dear Editor: I was reading the Junior Newspaper about four weeks and found it very interesting. So three weeks passed and I had my pin coupons and membership coupons saved How Is the ink I am using. It was supposed to be black but it doesn't look it. Enclosed you will find a atory called "The Kind Boy." I guess I will have to close now.

A new member, GILLIS. Miners Mills. Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Dear Editor: I am very Interested In your stories and drawings. would like to become a member.

Enclosed you will find a membership coupon and three pin coupons. I would like to have my pin without delay. -Yours sincerely. ARLINE DOMOWITCII. 323 Chestnut Dupont, Penna.

Dear Editor: I am now starting to write this letter to you and In doing bo I have chosen a motto and here it ia: "Try to write as long a letter as I can." I can't express in words how much I thank you for publishing my last long letter. Gee! I was surprised when I saw It In print. I never knew that I wrote such a long letter. I hope you and all the Junior Club members liked It. I also thank you for publishing my story and for putting my name on the Honor Roll as a poet and an author.

I liked Saturday's "Prize Story." and I think that the author of It deserved the prize. The story that I liked second best was "Bright Eyes," which was written by Mary Muroski. from Luzerne. I think that she ia a very good contributor. I correspond with her and- find her a cute little girl.

I also liked the story, entitled "Buck," which was written by Catherine Considine. from Wilkes-Barre. I liked the other stories, too, but those were about the best. AH my friends and schoolmates were telling me how much they en-Joyed reading my last story and especially that big, long letter that I wrote. Nearly all of them had It cut out and were reading It over and over.

I recently have discovered that the majority of the member like my stories and letters and hereafter I will try to letter as often as I can. Mamie Dennis is very anxious to know how you look and I am Just tbersame. I don't think that you will eteer put a picture of yourself in foeTBtpcrc- I think-that the Honor Roll last Saturday was very long and I hope that It will be longer this Saturday. Up in our garret I have two boxes. The title of one is "Junior Newspaper Box," and the title of the other one Is, "Correspondence Letter Box." Jn the first box keep all the Junior Newspapers and In the other box I save all the letters which I receive from Junior Club members because about ten or twenty years from today we Junior Club members will be very glad to pick up our childhood letters and read them.

I think that this Is a nuts of an Idea and I wish all the Junior Club members would do it, for it is very nice. Last night I was with my girl friend out in the Polonia Hall roller skating. Gee! we had loads of fun. I certainly do love these warm sunny days and I think you do too. Sunday my friend and I and a few other girls were out In the woods.

We played games, sang songs and each one of us had to tell some kind of a story. Then we went to the well to get a drink of. cool water. My friend said that she would give an orange for the one who would drink four glasses of water. Matyl- da Wrazen only drank two glasses and she said, "Oh! that enough." Then I started to drink and I.

drank four glasses and I was the one who received the orange. Then we went further and we started to pick May flowers. We all picked a big bunch and my, but they smelled swell. I took some to school and gave them to my teacher and she kept them all day on her desk. I only wish that you had a bunch of them on your desk and perhaps you would enjoy your "Work better.

Did you ever hear the record on the victrola, entitled "Sleepy Time Gal," which is played on a pipe organ by Jesse Crawford? I think that It Is very nice. I play it over and over. The other day I was talking to a girl In school and she told me that she Is angry because another girl called her a dirty Italian. I told that girl that she should have been proud of her nationality. She said.

"Oh, no. There Is nothing to be proud of," Then I started to tell her about the great Italian man who discovered America. I told her that his name was Christopher Columbus and he belonged to the same nationality that she does. Editor, you ought to aee how proud she was of her nationality then. I told her to always speak the Italian language at home and never forget It This statement applies to all other children, too.

Dear members, please never-be ashamed of your nationality. It is good to know aa many languages aa you can. I wish I only knew how to apeak about six or seven languages. I only know how to speak three languages nd they are: Polish, English and Slovlsh. I am very proud that I am Polish and rm not ashamed of It, either.

Pad ere ski a Polish and he is the greatest pianist In the world. Perhaps you heard Mm play. What do you think of that? I wonder what nationality you belong to. I think that you are Irish. We usually have fire drills In school and everytlme the bell rings for fire, I get excited, for I think It la a real fire.

We go In single 128 Bunny Lane Edwardsville, Pa. Dear Editor: Here I am again. I never get tired writing stories and drawing. The, Junior Newspaper is getting better and larger every day. This Is the month of May and the finals are coming.

I bone you will be pleased with it. Editor, about, a month ago my brother Richard sent in a drawing called, "A Night Scare," and about three weeks ago he saw one Just like it published In the Junior Newspaper called. Very Small Burglar." He waa very much disappointed as he had spent a lot of time on it Well, I will close, hoping my drawing will meet with success, I am. Tour truly, RITA R. GILL.

114 Blair St, Plymouth, Pa, Dear Editor: guess you thought I waa dead but I am still living. After this I will writ soon again. I was so busy with my night work that I couldn't write. I have a niece fire years I wonder if she's too young to join. -let me know I can send his hair cut this morning and ho is so proud of it that he even does not want to wear his cap.

My sister Lottie took last Sat urday's Junior Newspaper to the mill and the girls in the mill were fighting over the Junior Newspaper. So aa to give every girl a chance to see it, she- passed it around and they said that lhey never heard of such a wonderful paper. They said that they" wra" ten theli' "younger brothers and sisters to join this wonderful club. Please" don't be surprised when you receive lots of letters from Dupont children, ask ing you if they can join the Junior Club. Pee that quite a number of children from Dupont Joined the club lately.

Our school ended May 24. I am wondering where I will spend my vacation this year. I like to go to the movies Once In a while but not too often. I would like to be an actress. I think that some of them net in very nice pictures.

My brother only likes western pictures and comedies. I would like to be in Hollywood because my cousin was there and he said that It's beautiful out there. We have a dog and we have named him "Shepp." He Is a very smart doggie. Every time I walk up to him he gives his hand to me so I can shake hands with him. When I tell him that he is a bad doggie, he barks his head off, but when I tell him that he is a smart dog, well he sits down quiet and looka at me.

He is only two years old and will be three in July. He likea to be playing with a ball. My friend 'was having a birthday party and Anthony and I were Invited to it. There were fifteen boys and fifteen girls and we had a swell time. We played games, sang song and danced.

One of the girl's played the piano and another boy played the violin and the accordion. The girl who waa having the party re-celved many useful present. An thony and I also gave her a present, for it wouldn't be nice if we did not give her anything. The party started at six o'clock and It was over at ten o'clock, so Editor, you could see that we had quite a time, en Joying ourselves. The girl who was having the party made a speech and the attendants were delighted with the way she spoke.

This afternoon I came home from school and I only wished that I had something to read, I went over to the mall box and there I found a letter. I looked at it and who do you suppose it was from? Well, strange to say that it was from Lillian Kluchnic, from Plymouth. I waa tickled to death to hear from her. Her letter- waa very Interesting. She writes beautifully.

I answered her letter just no and tomorrow morning I shall, mall It to her and I hope that she will en-Joy reading it. I think that cor-responding with out-of-town Junior Club members is one of the best things in the world to do. I have a little brother. He is very cute. He always says for Catherine Considine, "Catherine due to the fact that he can't pronounce her last name.

He makes me laugh when he says that I always correct him but he loesn't mind my correction a bit. Genevieve Wlrkus told me that Catherine Grigger sent her a picture of herself. I would appreciate It very much if she would send one to me. Editor, often times I wonder If you had "spelling matches" when you used to go to school. We usually have one and lots of times I stood up the longest.

I think that it is better to have "spelling matches" than to have oral or written spelling. We already have planted our garden. I will tell you what we planted. We planted onions, lettuce, celery, tomatoes, beets, radishes, all kind of flowers, grass and potatoes. I have quite a number of good friends and only (or the Junior Club.
