Calvin Browne, manager, is a career hotel man with 28 years experience. His most recent post was as general manager of the Ven-dome Hotel in Boston, and he has held managerial positions at several Washington, D.C., hostelries. Parking facilities to accommodate some 300 cars are available. Inn patrons will use a parking area which has been laid out between the inn and the Elmwood Medical Building, also built by Wilmorite and opened recently. The inn is owned by Towne House Motel Inc.

Officers are: President, James E. Wil-mot; vice president, Albert E. Woodhead; secretary, Robert Wilmot; treasurer, William F. Wilmot. The kitchen, capable of preparing some 2,000 meals a day, is one of the finest in this part of the country, it was pointed out.

It is 57 by 40 feet and includes the most modern equipment imaginable. There's a special infra red heating unit installed over the top of the serving counter, for example, so that dishes waiting to be served will be kept warm. There's an 8-com-partment fish refrigerator, "LUXURIOUS" is the word for the Towne House Motor Inn, Rochester's newest facility for travelers. The 137-unit inn, built by Wilmorite Inc. at a cost of approximately IVi million dollars, is located on a 6-acre plot at the southwest corner of Mt.

Hope and Elmwood Avenues. Its restaurant, with Ruth McKinnon in charge, is expected to draw patrons from the city, the banquet room to be completed on the lower level will find use from local groups, and the inn itself is admirably situated to attract tourist trade. It is on the main route to the Thruway, yet is only five minutes from downtown and about 10 from Exit 46, which is 6 miles to the south on West Henrietta Road. The proposed Outer Loop will be less than a mile south of the inn, and Rochester Airport is handy to the west. It should be a mecca for visitors to the city during Lilac Time, for you can easily walk from Towne House to the famed lilac display in Highland Park.

It also is handy to Strong Memorial Hospital, which attracts many patrons from out of town. PHYSICALLY, the Towne House is an imposing structure. The rooms are in an L-shaped two-story section that extend qlong Elmwood Avenue and then jogs to the north. There are 63 rooms on the first floor, 74 on the second. There are double rooms, accommodations for 3 and 4 persons, and suites for as many as 12 persons.

Two rooms have been designed for use as sales rooms. The dining room, lounge and lobby are in a one-story section that fronts on Mt. Hope Avenue. Dramatizing the building is a 500-foot long glass window wall, the longest in Western New York, and each of the inn's rooms has floor-to-ceiling windows. Particular interest is created in the lobby, lounge and dining room where 14-foot ceilings give a feeling of spaciousness.

Curved walls, walls of Pennsylvania bluestone, a huge 23-foot-long fireplace, and a fountain in the lobby are interior features. Architect Michael J. De-Angelis drew" the plans for the building and harmoniously integrated the granite, stone, brick, glass and porcelain enamel used in the construction. The building is completely air conditioned and fireproof. Construction began in July, 1957.
