New Haven, Get. The cause of the reienl vote of the senior class of the academic department of Yale I'liiver-sity, rejecting the honor system alloww them by the faculty, is for the first time semi-olliclnlly disclosed. It appears at the joint junior and senior examinations lust June, at a tirt trial of ihe honor system, a number of students using dii-limiest methods were defected by their classmates, and that their names became known to members of the faculty also. Their classmates refused to report them, nnd it is snid thnt the faculty declined to act. It is also asserted that a number of students who used the dishonest methodr.

obtained degrees, while oilier low-standing students, who were honest ul the examinations, failed to pass. The result of these disclosures was the action of the senior academic class a few days ago, rejecting the honor system as not practicable in 11 large Yale class and in individual cases, and alio as imposing upon them supervisory ditties whicii lielmig to til" fuculty.
