Decedent a resident of San Antonio for the past 26 years, died in that city Wednesday, Aug. 6 1070 in a San Antonio hospital. He was a former resident of Seguin. airvivors include four brothers, Henry Vetter of New firaun- fels, Eugene Vetter of Semiln: W.E. Vetter of Kingston) Tex.

and Donald Vetter of Austin; three sisters, Mrs. Gussie Hizer of San Antonio; Mrs. Emmie Grimm of Seguin; and Mrs. Velma Womack of Pasadena, Tex. were Sleg Donsbach, Milton Vetter, Jerome Vettor, Kermit Vetter, Ralph Vetter and Bernard Kitsch.

Mrs. Laura Harris Pybus Graveside services for Mrs. Laura Harris Pybus were held at 2:00 Tuesday, Aug. 11. 1970 at the San Geronimo Cem- Rev.

Burial was In the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Decedent, a resident of Segutn for the past 24 years, died Wednesday, August 5, in a San Antonio Hospital at the age of 48 years.

Floyd of Seguin; one daughter, Miss Judy Floyd of Houston; one grandchild; two brothers, Otis Floyd of Alvln, and Vernon Floyd of Conroe; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Sheppard and Mrs, Doris of San Antonio and Mrs.

Virginia Scott Hodges were held at 10:00 Tuesday. August 11, 1970, in the Goetz Memorial chapel with the Rev. Wtll-Mathis Dunn officiating. Burial waa tai the Riverside Cemetery. Mrs.

Hodges, a resident of Seguin for the past 80 years.dled Saturday, Aug. 8, 1970 in a local Nursing Home at the age of 91 years. She was the widow of the late Maurice Hodges and was a member of an early, well- known family of Seguin, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W.

W. Scott. Survivors include two cousins, Dick Campbell of Seguin and Mrs. Charles A. McKeogh of New Orleans, La.

Pallbearers were Billy Jones, George Surges, Phil Medlln, Malcolm Tigett, Frank Schmidt, and Max Bergfeld. Major General Lee Bird bourne, overall director of feigning arid construction of the Air Force Acftdemcy at Colorado Springs, died suddenly at his home on Rt, 3, here on August 4th, 1970. The son of the late Mn and Mrs. Bert Washbourne, he wag born June 2nd, 1906 at Brush creek, Cherokee Nation Indian Territory, As a youth Lee lived, worked and played on the family farm south of Jay, Me attended elementary school at Jay and duated from high school at Pryor, Oklahoma, After graduation from high school, he was appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point by the late E.B Howard, Congressman from the first district of Oklahoma, graduating 13th in a class of 203 'at the Military Academy, ly after hit 21st birthday. Lee was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, Corpi of Engineers, U.S.

Army. After commiuioning, Lee experienced the normal troop.staff and school assignments of a Corps of Engineer officer including graduate school at the University of California, resulting in the granting of a professional civil engineer degree, On April 28, 1932, he was united in marriage with Miss Annette Gombert of Seguin, Texas at the chapel at West Point Academy. Prior to World War Lee specialized in Air Base construction, organized, trained, and deployed one of the First Army. Engineer Regiments whose mission was support of the U.S. Army Air Force, moving from the Panama Canal Zone westward acroM the Pacific.

Building Air Bases In the Pacific Area, Lee was appointed as the first district engineer of Okinawa. He designed and constructed facilities to insure that Okinawa was a major military bastion in the Pacific. In 1947, while Deputy Army Engineer of Fourth Army, Lee transferred to the newly organized U.S. Air Force. While serving as Assistant Chief of Staff, Installations, Strategic Air Force, he directed planning and construction of Strategic Facilities worldwide.

In 1952, Lee, then Brigadier General, wai transferred to the Pentagon as Assistant Chief of Staff, Installations. During his 5 year tenure, he was re- jponsibte for all Air Force Con, struction worldwide and under his overall direction, the United "Air Force Academy at Colorado'Springs was designed and constructed. In 1957, he wag assigned as Assistant Chief of Staff, Installa- US. Air Force Europe, tie retired it Major General U.S. Air Force on August 31, 1958, Following his retirement from the military service, he was appointed Director of Highways, State of Oklahoma, After ing in this capacity from 1959-61 he resigned due to ill health.

Subsequently he was employed as Project Engineer, Atoka Water Works, during the period 196164, As Lee was a descendant of the famous Cherokee families of Ridge Watte Boudinot, he was vitally Interested in preserving the culture and improving the lot of the present day Cherokees. He devoted time and energy to the Cherokee National Historic Society and was a member of the Oklahoma Cherokee 1964, Lee returned to nil Brush creek home engaged iff his boyhood dream of ranching and farming in partnership with his Only sitter, Mrs, Gladys Howard, suddenly passed away at his home in Seguin, Texas, on August 4, 1970, His Sudden demise is mourned by his wife, his Sister, Mrs, Oiaqys Munaiu, seven sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law and numerous ives. Funeral services were held at 10 a.nu Friday, August 7, 1970, at the United Methodist Church in Jay, Oklahoma, with Rev. Wolfe officiating.
