IUBBOCK Morning, November 13, (Staff by Joe Don Huckner) Aftermath Of Lawman's Wilson, son of Sheriff Jalmar "Jinks" Wilson who was shot to death east of Matador Friday, gives the keys of his father's car to Alton Marshall, sheriff-elect of Motley County in photo at upper left. At upper right, lawmen surround a pickup truck left abandoned on the Marrs-Parmer Ranch north of Matador that wns reported to have been one of the vehicles used by the murder suspects as they fled the scene of the shooting. At lower right Neal Haralson, DPS Trooper from Matador, mans the radio in the sheriffs office after two suspects were arrested near Crosby I on. I Obituaries C.J. Beach O'DONNELL (Special) Services for C.J. "Doc" Beach, 84, of O'Donnell will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church.

Officiating will be Garnie Atkisson, a Church of Christ minister, and the Rev. Harry Kennedy, pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery in northeast Dawson County under the direction of Branon Funeral Home of Lamesa. Beach died at 1:30 a.m. Friday in Mercy Hospital in Slaton.

He was born in Beckville and moved to Lynn County in 1903. Beach was married to Edna Jackson on Aug. 9, 1911, in Tahoka. He was a Methodist, a life member of Masonic Lodge No. 1187 and was engaged in ranching, farming, real estate and oil for more than 60 years.

Survivors include his son, Ralph of O'Donnell; four daughters, Mrs. Lorene Thompson of O'Donnell, Mrs. Peggy Penn and Mrs. John (Ellen) McLaurin, both of Odessa and Mrs. Ina Merle Harris of Denver City; a sister, Mrs.

Anna Griffith of Delton, 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Annie Bruster SLATON (Special)-Services for Mrs. Annie E. Bruster, 79, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Slaton Church of Christ with Grandol Forehand, minister, officiating.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Home. Bruster, a native of Henderson County, had lived in the Slaton and Southland area for 35 years. She died early Friday in Mercy Hospital here after a lengthy illness. Survivors include a son, Norman of Slaton; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Hollingsworth of Slaton; four sisters, Mrs.

Gertrude Hughes of Dumas, Mrs. Pearl Shirley of Austin, Mrs. Judy Hyre of Amarillo and Mrs. Blanche Smith of California; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mary Cargile CROSBYTON (Special) Services for Mrs.

Mary Nell Cargile, 42, of Crosbyton, will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, officiating, assisted by Dr. Neal Record, a retired minister from Plainview. Burial wiU be in Crosbylon Cemetery under the direction of King Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cargile died at 1:20 p.m. Thurs- day at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas following a long illness. A native of Snyder, Mrs. Cargile moved to Crosbyton from Lockney in 1967.

She married Joe Cargile Nov. 27, 1954, in Snyder. He is the president of the Citizens National Bank here. Mrs. Cargile was Crosbyton School librarian until the fall of 1971.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was the past president of the Crosbyton Harmony Club and a past member of the Crosby County Library Board. She was a member of the Needle Club. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Joe Mark and Michael Jay, both of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

S. W. Trevey of Snyder; her grandmother, Mrs. Emmett Trevey of Snyder; a brother, Ralph W. Trevey of Snyder; and a sister, Mrs.

Buddy Drum of Fluvanna. Pallbearers will be Dee Cash, Dick Snodgrass, Aries Graham, R. C. Mitchell, Edgar Hayes and Dr. E.

D. Fernandez. Ernie Devitt BROWNFIELD (Special) Services for R. "Ernie" Devitt, 63, of Brownfield will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Church of God with the Rev.

Don Austin, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Devitt died at 6:03 p.m. Thursday in Brownfield General Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in Clark County, Ark.

Devitt was married to Verna Mae Wilks in Arkansas on Oct. 4, 1934. They moved to Foster Community in Terry County in 1934 and farmed until his retirement in 1958. Devitl worked as a part-time employe of the Farmers' Co-op Station until December, 1975. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne of Lovington, N.M., and Larry of Brownfield; two brothers, George of WolTforth and Carl of Levelland; a sister, Mrs.

A.J. Hartman of Brownfield; and five grandchildren. Ricky Head Mass of the Angels will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church for Ricky James Head, 4-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs.

James E. Head of Brownfield. The Rev. Thomas McGovern, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven-Singleton-Wilson Funeral Home.

The child died at 10:20 p.m. Thursday in Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness. The Heads, former Denver City residents, have lived in Brownfield since January. Survivors in addition to his parents include a brother, Ronnie Daie, and a sister, Rhonda Kay, both of the home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

J.O. Faherty of Lubbock, Mrs. Flossie Head of Brownfield and W.D. Jordan of Aus- Un. Pallbearers will be Gene Martin, Joel Martin, Marvin Head, Bennie Jordan Faherty and Delbert Jordan Faherty.

Harmon Meador JAYTON (Special) Services for Harmon Meador, 88, of Jayton will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Truett Kuenstler, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Jayton Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home in Rotan. Meador died at 8:15 a.m.

Friday in Fisher County Hospital in Rotan. He was born in Lafayette, and moved to Texas at age 3. Meador had been a Kent County resident since 1905. He married Laura Dell Rose on April 27, 1907, in Kent County; she died Oct. 21.

Survivors include two sons, Martin of Jal, N.M.,.and Marvin of Monroe, three brothers, Bruce of Peacock, J.A. of Boerne and Boyd of McClain; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Hahn of Amarillo; a grandson and three great-grandchildren. The body will remain at Jayton Community Center from 9:30 a.m. Sunday until service time.

B.A. Merrell Services for Burns Alexander Merrell, 62, of 5415 14th St. will be at 3 p.m. today in Franklin-Bartiey Chapel, with the Rev. Charles V.

Dunnam, pastor of the Agape United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Merrell died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Methodist Hospital following a lengthy illness. Merrell moved to Lubbock from Corpus Christi.

He had been a Lubbock resident for seven years. He was a member of the Agape United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife. Bertha; one daughter, Mrs. David Stagg of Richardson; two sisters, Mrs.

Cecil Johnson of Littlefield and Mrs. James Shaw of Port Arthur; one brother, Maurice of Rolling Hills, and two grandchildren. Pallbearers include Bob Albin, Charles Stewart, Clovis DeBord, Merrell Johnson, Edwin Merrell and E.R. Merrell. Cornelia Mock TAHOKA (Special) Services for Mrs.

H.E. (Cornelia) Mock, 88, of Tahoka will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Jim Turner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Tahoka Cemetery under the direction of White Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mock died in her home of natural causes Friday morning. A native of Alabama, she attended school in Farmersville. She married the late H. E.

Mock in 1906, at Farmersville. The couple lived in New Mexico before moving to Lynn County in 1945, from Clayton, N.M. Mrs. Mock was a member of Woodmen of the World and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Tahoka. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Pauline Walters and Mildred Walker, both of Tahoka; a son, William Fred Mock of Santa Barbara, seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Hubert Nunn TULIA (Special) Funeral services for Hubert Ray Nunn, 70, of Tulia will be at 2 p.m. today in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Nunn died at 7 p.m.

Thursday in Swisher Memorial Hospital. He was born in Leander and had been a Tulia resident since 1950. Nunn moved here from Liberty Hill. He was married to Maurine Wilhelm in 1931. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim of Eureka, a daughter, Mrs.

Kenneth Love of Tulia; three brothers, Robert and J.T., both of Georgetown and Gene of Baytown; two sisters, Mrs. Milt Tucker of Georgetown and Mrs. Loyd Barker of Hutto; and five grandchildren. Plainview Officer To Resume Duties By RICHARD ORR Avalanche-Journal Staff PLAINVIEW A Plainview police officer who had been fired Oct. 18 was reinstated with full back pay following an appeal hearing with city officials Friday.

The officer, Eduardo Campoamor, will resume his duties Monday. "I'm relieved and glad it's over," he said. "I have no bad feelings toward anyone and I'm anxious to get back to work. Campoamor was fired for alleged bad relations with the public and also for burning up the engine of squad car during a high-speed chase north of the city limits Oct. 16.

Chief of Police H. P. Pelphrey said during the hearing that the squad car had about 80,000 miles on it and that officers had been instructed to "pet" the vehicle until it could be traded off. Campoamor told city officials Norman Huggins and Johnnie Ballew that he was not informed of any such restriction on the vehicle and that he had used the same squad car in a similar chase a week before and had not been reprimanded. He also said his supervisor was aware of the Oct.

16 chase, and had even participated in it. In regard to the alleged bad relations with the public, Campoamor's attorney Waller Wolfram of Amarillo, pointed out that the three youths who had signed statements against Campaomor had been arrested in the past. Wolfram said it appeared to him that they were attempting to gain "revenge" Obituary Briefs Services for Mrs. Clara Mae Clark, 53, of Slaton will be at 11 a.m. today in Slaton Church of God with burial following in Resthaven Cemetery in Southland under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Mrs. Clark died Thursday in Methodist Hospital. Requiem mass for Lupe Diaz, 70, of 2916 E. Auburn St. will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m.

today in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Res- thaven-Slngleton-Wilson Funeral Home. The body will remain at 2916 E. Auburn the deceased's residence, until service time.

Mrs. Diaz died Wednesday in West Texas Hospital. Requiem mass for Louis Catuogno 44, of 4610 23rd St. will be at 10 a.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church.

The Texas Tech University music department faculty member will be buried in Resthaven Memorial Park under the supervision of Resthaven-Singleton-Wilson Funeral Hone. Catuogno died Tuesday in a Dallas hospital. Services for Roy Lee Shannon, 69, of Amarillo are set for 2:30 p.m. today in Osage Fundamental Baptist Church in Amarillo. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery on tbe Canyon Highway under the direction of Quitaque Funeral Home.
