Supervisor Goss introduced a substitute that the whole matter be submitted to the people at the coming spring elections, to express by their votes whether they are opposed to, or in favor of building a new court house and that the county oierk provide ballots for that purpose. There was considerable discussions upon the question pro and con, in which the wits of the board managed to prod each other very effectively.

Finally Supervisor Goss '9 resolution was indefinitely postponed. Supervisor Otis' resolution was adopted and the trustees authorized to advertise for bids. The board then adjourned.
