A fire most appalling in result occurred about 1 o'clock this morning in a two-story Ci ime buiMiug at the corner of Central and Harriet street, near the Clew-laud Pitlsburg railroad crossing, au entire family consisting of a father, nit it her and two little boys perishing.

The building was owned by P. J. Yacha and is a residence and store rooms c. mi biued. In half of the lower portion of the building was a saloon, owned by James Shannon and John McGlnty.

Shannon and his family lived in the upper section of the building. They were the ones that perished. The cause of fire could sot be ascertained, but it was believed to have originated in the saloon.
