Beach Post-Times, Sunday, November 13, 1977 Boat With 20 Tons of Pot Seized MIAMI (UPI) The Coast Guard cutter Steadfast boarded and seized a mystery vessel in Bahamian waters last night and found an estimated 20 tons of marijuana aboard, a spokesman reported. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $12 million. Coast Guard spokesman Lance Jones identified the vessel as the Motor Vessel Caybur, a 70-foot coastal freighter. He said the captain of the vessel said it was registerede in Honduras but there were no papers aboard to confirm that. The nine crewmen aboard all claimed to be Colombian citizens but had no papers an and no identification.

The Caybur was boarded about 7 p.m. in the northeast Providence Channel, between Great Abaco and Eleuthera islands in the Bahamas.
