Ill Mining His Business, Frank Watts, a well known mining operator, who has for manyj years been interested in mining on i the west coast of Mexico, was here for several days this week. There is a probability that Mr. Watts will become a mine'owner in this district. Has Bad Spill. Monday night Henry Armenia, driving a Ford, had a bad spill at the eastern crossing over the railroad tracks, by going into the excavation.

The machine turned over throwing Henry violently to the ground where he remained unconscious for a short period of time. After a day or so in bed' he is again about nursing sore ribs and walking slowly like an old man. County Surveying. Surveyors employed by the county road in picking out the most feasible route from Casa Grande to Maricopa for a county road passed through Summerland last week. They constructed a map of the various routes with the washes and 'sand ridges located thereon as well as the locations of all settlers' 1 who would be tributary to the road.

This will be presented to the county board at their next meeting after which it is hoped that work will be begun. Given Away. Your attention is called this week to the premimus given away at the Armenia Mercantile Co's. store. A list is printed in their advertisement printed in another column.

Hole in the Road. On the road to Toltec there is. a bad crossing at the ranch being developed by the Bisbee company. A Toltec citizen states that it. is extremely dangerous and liable to the cause of a bad auto accident if not repaired.

Admitted to. High School. Summerland school closed for the year on May 24th with appropriate exercises. The pupils graduated from the eigth grade, Barbara Lambert and Millicent Stanfield, and received the County School diploma entitling the holders to admission to any high school in the State. A week, ago last Sunday they brought off the greatest picnic ever held in this section of Arizona. A good time which will last in the memory of old and young.
