The committee which baa charge of tbe arrangements for tbe annual County Christian Endeavor convention, which will be beid in 8t. Mark's Reformed cbnrcb, Friday and Saturday. May 12 and 13, baa Dearly completed tbe program far that occasion.

The program will consist of special mnsical numbers and interesting addresses. At Friday evening's session tbe principal address will be delivered by Bev. Clarence Eberman, president of the state Christian Endeavor union. "Tbe Regnant Life" is the theme to be discussed Saturday morning. Amorg the other important subjects to be discussed will be the "Christian Endeavor Society as a Training School" and "Christian Endeavor in Civil and Social Life." Tbe entertainment committee has made arrangements for entertaining delegates from different parts of tbe county, who will be guests of members of the local societies.

JOHN H. OBERLY IS DEAD. Waa the Great Grandson of the Founder of Sohsefferstown. John H. Oberly, editor of the "People and Patriot," died at his home in Con card, N.

aged 63 years. He wae bore in Ohio, was civil service commieeionei and Indian cDmmieeioner under Preei dent Cleveland and wee once editor of tbe "Washington Times." Deceased wee a great-grandson cf Alexander Schaeflers, the founder of Schaef- feretown, this county. His father was bora in Scbaefferetown, iron; whence he went to Cincinnati, Oaio, where John H. Oberly was born in 1836. Subsequently the family settled at Wooster, Oaio, where young Oberly learned the printing business.

Two or three years before the war be went to Memphis, from which city he was driven in May, 1861, because cf his adhesion to the Union. He went to Ohio, where he married in 1863 and tben went to Illinois. Liter he located in Concord.
