This announcement was made this week by Dr. Fred Schwarz, president of the operating company, who lias just returned from Connecticut, where he operated a summer resort hotel. The men were picked up about forty miles out. None were lost. The Dicbohl was driven before the gale but escaped with little loss except the sweeping away of. hamper. The (iulf and Southern liner Trux-illo, from New Orleans, made port this afternoon, two days overdue, storm battered.

The Truxillo's steering gear broke during' the height of the hurricane and it took hours to make temporary repairs under difficulties. "I can truthfully say that it was only by the grace of (lod that we did not sink," said Chief Engineer K. S. Haines. The Mallory line steamer Lake Fillmore came into the bay this morning, two days overdue, after weathering the storm outside, only to ram her nose into a mud flat nine miles from her pier.

She will be gotten off at high tide tonight. That the loss by storm damage to citrus fruit trees and more especially to the fruit crop is considerable, bill not as great as at first was thought, is statement made by the Florida Citrus Exchange tonight. Business manager J. E. Stewart gave in the press a formal statement of damage to the citrus crop of the state as estimated by managers of the various sub-exchanges and prominent growers in many localities as follows Dade county No damage to citrus crop or trees; some loss of avocado pears.

Marion county The loss to citrus growers from storm will be less than 5 per cent of crop on the trees. Orange county In this county loss of fruit crop by the storm is estimated not over five per cent.
