Its preliminary report, with all recommendationsde-scribed as tentative, was submitted to a meeting of legislative leaders Democrats and TALLAHASSEE AP -Florida legislators would like a minimum salary of $10,000, a 733 per cent increase over what they get now. a special consultant institute has reported. The Eagleton Institute of Politics of Rutgers Univers- Republicans in Jacksonville. Eagleton consultants said the salary report was a result of a poll of legislators. Lawmakers now get $100 a month. They can skirt this somewhat by voting additional expense allowances. tiy, in a preliminary report, recommended adoption of a committee system styled basically after that of the Senate and expansion of powers in the Joint Interim Legislative Management Committee. The institute has been studying Florida's Legislature since "Nine-tenths of the report was devoted to the committee system. They basically recommend the type of committee system we've got in the Senate." said Senate President John Mathews D-Jacksonville. The Senate reduced the number of standing full com- committees for the House and 10 for the Senate, with several subcommittees.
