' Haviland, 33, won the 3.1- mile race in 17 minutes, 14 seconds despite having to re peat part of the course. "I missed the second set of orange cones," Haviland said. "I didn't see them and the volunteer around the cor ner, so I had to go back around them." Nina Timm ran unchal lenged to win the women s race in 19:52. CROSS-COUNTRY - B Area team first among state programs: The Olympian Aries girls midget team of Palm Beach Gardens finished first among 26 Flonda entnes and 16th in the nation in Saturday's AAU National Youth Cross-Coun try Championships in Orlan do. Top finishers in the 3,000- meter event were Artemis Saridakis of West Palm Beach, who finished 40th in 12:52; Rebecca Bueno of Jupi ter, 73rd in 13:20; Tara Russ of North Palm Beach, 140th in 14:05; Andrianna Broggy of Palm Beach Gardens, 165th in 14:12; Melina Loudaros of Pam Beach Gardens, 178th in 14:38; and Kimberly Cline of Wellington, 179th in 14:40. - In the youth boys 4,000- meter event, Josh Randal of Delray Beach finished 55th in 14:37, and Georgios Loudaros of Palm Beach Gardens was 59th in 14:49.
