Kudos for Finger L akes Rieslings from down under: Congrats t o Sheldrake Point, whose 2014 Wild Ferment Finger Lakes Riesling I ce Wine took the top award, “Best Wine,” at the Canberra Interna- t ional Riesling Challenge in Australia. Now in its 1 6th year, the challenge is the biggest Riesling event in the southern hemisphere, with almost 500 wines from seven countries competing. A total of 18 Finger Lakes w ines were entered in the competition, and nine took home medals. Other Finger Lakes winners came from Wagner Vineyards, Anthony Road Wine Companyand Three Brothers Wineries and Estates.
