. -J f i f 3 '.f , today as the non-musical star of "The Beverly Hillbillies," Ebsen won his first Broadway role in 1928 as a dancer in the Ziegfeld production of "Whoopee" starring Eddie Cantor. He subsequently formed a dance team with his sister, and Vilma and Buddy Ebsen toured the nation and appeared in several Hollywood films. Turned dramatic actor, Ebsen has had major roles in "Attack," "Between Heaven and Hell," "The House," "Night People," "Breakfast At Tiffany's," "The Interns,".. "Mail Order Bride" and "The Family Band." His best-known television characterization prior to "Hillbillies" was his co-starring role in "Davy Buddy Ebsen sings and dances in "A Family Thing," musical special starring the singing Cow-sill family to be colorcast on the NBC network Saturday, Nov. 23. Ebsen serves as narrator of the show to introduce the musical Cowsills and also appears in a rare song-and-dance routine with nine-year-old Susan Cowsill. While he is perhaps best known H (I I ) Nine-year-old Susan Cowsill joins Buddy Ebsen in a song-and-dance routine of "The Old Soft Shoe." Mrs.. Barbara Cowsill and six of the singing Cowsill children present "A Family Thing." Starring in the musical will be Bill, 20, Bob, 19, Paul, 17, Barry, 14, Johnny, 12, and Susan.
