(If flavor Is stronger than you like, add a little water and reheat). Pour sauce around chicken. Makes 6 servings. SUNDAY SUPPER Asparagus from the pantry-shelf makes a delightful salad Barley Meat Soup Deviled Eggs Asparagus Salad Pear Biscuit Roll Beverage ASPARAGUS SALAD i4 cup olive oil 2 tablespoons cider vinegar 1 can (1 pound) green asparagus spears Romalne or other salad greens 2 tomatoes, sliced cup grated Parmesan . cheese In a shallow container, with a fork, beat together the oil and vinegar. Drain asparagus and place spears in the marinade, spooning it over them. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or longer. At servng time arrange asparagus on romalne; surround with tomatoes; spoon marinade over ro-maine and tomatoes. Sprinkle asparagus with the Parmesan. Makes 4 servings. Line 8-lnch pie plate with half of pastry, leaving an overhang. Add apples to pie crust In two layers, alternately with sugar, cinnamon and raisins. Roll out remaining pastry and cut vents in It; place over apples; trim pastry; seal edges; flute. Brush top pastry with milk. Bake on a low rack of a preheated 425-degree oven until apples are tender and pastry browned about 45 minutes. Serve warm or reheat. SATURDAY DINNER A skillet dish easily made with chicken breasts. Chicken with Mushroom Sauce Egg Noodles Green Peas Salad Bowl Bread Tray Lemon Sherbet with Creme de Men the CHICKEN HTTH MUSHROOM SAUCE 3 large chicken breasts 2 tablespoons flour 2 tablespoons butter Va cup water 1 can (10(4 ounces) condensed golden mushroom soup 1 can (6 ounces) whole mushroom crowns, drained Cut away any free fat from underside of chicken. Coat chicken with flour. In a 10-inch skillet, heat butter; add chicken and brown thoroughly. Add water to skillet; simmer until chicken Is cooked through about 20 minutes. Remove chicken and keep warm. Add undllut soup and mushrooms Any day becomes a holiday when you serve festive "Regal Crown of Pork." It's especially nice for company as It looks so elegant and really is so easy to prepare. Rubbed with an aromatic blend of ginger, orange and garlic, this roast can be popped in the oven and forgotten until dinner time. The crunchy stuffing Is cooked separately in a small oven casserole and spooned into the crown for serving. Garnished with brilliant red crabapples, it can be the highlight of many a festive meal, with very little strain on you. REGAL CROWN OF PORK 1 (8 lb.) crown of pork 1 tablespoon orange peel teaspoon ground ginger 4 teaspoon garlic powder 1 pkg. (8 oz.) crumb-type herb stuffing mix 4 cup Port H cup chopped walnuts Place crown of pork on rack in large roasting pan. Combine 1 teaspoon orange peel, Vi teaspoon ginger and garlic powder. Rub into pork. Roast in a moderately-slow oven (325 degrees F.) for 3 hours. Meanwhile prepare stuffing mix according to package directions replacing 4 cup of water with 14 cup of Port. Add 2 teaspoons orange peel, V, teaspoon ginger and the chopped walnuts. Turn Into a buttered casserole. Cover and bake during the last 45 minutes of roasting time. Spoon into center of roast to serve. In a 10-inch skillet melt the butter. Add almonds, rice and onion; over moderately low heat, stirring often, cook until rice and onions are browned. Stir in green pepper, salt and water. Bring to a vigorous boll; turn heat very low; cover tightly and cook until rice Is tender and water has evaporated 20 to 25 minutes. With a fork, stir over low heat for a few minutes to fluff rice. Makes 6 servings. GOOD DINNER Curry powder adds piquant flavor to broiled tomatoes. Lamb Chops French Fries Snap Beans Bengal Tomatoes Fruit Pudding Beverage BENGAL TOMATOES 4 medium-size tomatoes Vt teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons sugar I teaspoon curry powder 1 tablespoon butter Wash tomatoes and dry; cut out stem ends; cut a thin slice from both ends of each; halve crosswise. On wax paper stir together the salt, sugar and curry powder; sprinkle over widest cut surface of each tomato; dot with butter. Broil several Inches from high heat until tomatoes are hot through about 4 minutes. Makes 4 servings 2 halves for each portion. FAMILY DINNER Golden raisins are a delectable addition to green apple pie. Veal Paprika Noodles Broccoli Salad Green Apple Pie Beverage GREEN APPLE PIE Rich flaky pastry for a 2-crust 8 Inch pie plate 4 cups thinly sliced pared apples (3 or 4 large tart green apples) V2 cup sugar Vj teaspoon cinnamon cup golden raisins, rinsed In hot water and drained THE BRIDE COOKS DINNER A foolproof way to prepare four baked custards. Broiled Steak Potatoes Carrots Green Salad Perfect baked custard PERFECT BAKED CUSTARD 2 cups milk S large eggs cup sugar teaspoon vanilla Nutmeg In a small saucepan heat milk until tiny bubbles form around edge. In a small mixing bowl, beat eggs just until yolks and whites are combined; add sugar and salt; beat briefly to blend. Stirring vigorously and constantly, gradually add scalding hot milk, then vanilla. Turn into 4 six-ounce ungreased custard cups; sprinkle with nutmeg. Place cups In a square cake pan (8 by 8 by 2 Inches); add enough cold water to the pan to reach about as high as custard mixture. Bake In preheated 325-degree oven until a silver knife inserted close to edge of one of the custards comes out clean 1 hour. Quickly cool custards In a pan of cold water. Chill. Unmold at serving time. Run a small spatula round edge and to bottom of custard; Invert each on a dessert plate and turn out. Serve with thawed frozen peaches. Makes 4 servings. Any custards not used should be kept tightly covered with plastic wrap, In reirigerator; they will hold up for several days. COMPANY DINNER A novel way to fix rice.
