Committee members at the meeting included Preefer, Shipley, Richard Merritt, Anne Ro-zelle, Viola Yeotes, Peggy Anne Civitella and Gloria Hollis. Gala admission is $250 per person. The Young Friends of the Red Cross New Year's Eve Committee met recently met to plan the New Year's Eve Party which will be Dec. 31 at The Breakers Beach Club. Proceeds benefit programs and services for the Palm Beach County Chapter of the American Red Cross. The evening will include live music, a midnight buffet and an open bar. Lisa Marie Luna, of Spanish River High School, showed a video of conference meetings and the annual dinner. Drew Schleter, from Pope John Paul II High School, detailed his conference experiences. Pamela Jacobs, of Olympic Heights High School, discussed conference meeting topics. Luncheon cost is $10. For more information, call (561) 392-5678. Seventy-five Royale Woman's Club members and guests celebrated the 34th year of supporting scholarships at an anniversary luncheon at the Boca Raton Community Center. In addition, club members plan a Thursday card-party luncheon from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the community center. Hostesses will be co-chairpersons Lena Costan-tino, Charlotte Neil, Teresa Kuhn and Buzz Lewis. To date, the club has donated more than $100,000. At the luncheon, students who won leadership awards at local high schools reported on activities of the Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation HOBY Conference, which took place recently in Miami. GEARING UP FOR A GALA: "Dr. Wayne" Moses, above left, and Louis Labadini, above right, have finalized preparations for The Humanitarian Society's New Year's Eve Ball. The event will be from 8 p.m. to midnight at Boca Country Club and includes a reception, dinner and music by the Street Talk Orchestra. Cost is $75 for members and $ 100 for others. From left, Elaine Elish, Leona Brauser and Barbara Extein Hadassah to pay tribute to 'Keepers of the Gate' Alumnae welcome new officers "Keepers" donate a minimum gift of $1,000 yearly. The program was started by the Florida Atlantic Region in 1996 and will expand across the U.S. This year, the money was used to support breast cancer research at the Hadassah hospitals in Jerusalem and breast cancer awareness programs in the United States. For more information, call (561) 498-1012. The "Keepers of the Gate" of the Florida Atlantic Region of Hadassah will be honored Thursday at Addison Reserve Country Club in Delray Beach. A cocktail party will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Leona Brauser is chairperson of the program to honor supporters of Hadassah. Guest of honor is Miki Schulman, Hadassah National fund-raising coordinator.
