He says follow the river inland until you find the end of the brackish water. There he has found plenty of snook and jack crevalles taking topwater lures. There are also plenty of big bluef ish taking dark topwater lures near the Roosevelt Bridge. 2. MARTIN COUNTY The Oodles sport-fishing boat, captained by Pat Silver, has had some recent success fishing for dolphins and kingfish. Trolling bal-lyhoos in 180-200 feet on a half-day trip yielded 28 dolphins to 20 pounds. Another trip, this one in foul weather, resulted in catches of 17 dolphins and 14 kingfish. The group also landed a pair of huge bonitos. On their most recent trip, in 80-150 feet with trolled bally-hoos, they caught 1 1 kingfish. Capt. Jeff Sacks reported blue fish up to 8 lbs. and jacks from 12-15 lbs. biting on artificial lures at the North Fork of the St. Lucie river. Trout are apparent as well. 3. N. PALM BEACH COUNTY Stuart and Bob Pavlik had a good day fishing for snook Saturday in the Lake Worth Lagoon north of the Blue Heron Bridge. They used live shrimp to land seven snook along the mangroves east of Big Munyon Island. During the falling tide they drifted the live shrimp upcurrent. Capt. Jeff Sacks found plenty of jacks ranging 8-10 lbs. biting on artificial lures as well as flies on the Loxahatchee river. 4. S. PALM BEACH COUNTY . Jorge Sarria of High Tide Bait, Tackle and Smokehouse says the kingfish bite has fallen off some out of the Boynton Inlet. There have been some scattered dolphins and sailfish taking live and trolled baits. Near bridges in the Intracoastal, there have been reports of pompano and black drums taking fresh dead shrimp and sand fleas. 5. FRESHWATER LAKES . There have also been some bass in shallow water taking plastic twitch baits. In Lake Okeeheelee there have been reports of abundant catfish catches. The catfish have been taking crickets near the fish feeders and have weighed up to 7Vi pounds. 6. LAKE OKEECHOBEE Mike Challancin of J-Mark Fish Camp says the bass fishing has been very inconsistent lately. The pepper grass at Pelican Bay has been a good place to target bass when the wind is not too severe. Wild shiners have been the most productive and some artificials will work. Plastic 7-inch lizard baits have been a favorite artificial lure. There have been some nice catches of speckled perch in the rim canal on minnows and jigs.
