The Grand to present 'Sourdough Cowboy and Sourdough's Tall Tales' Texas history comes alive with the rhythm of hand-to-knee hoofbeats, coyote wails and chants as Houston's own Don Sanders.

He will recount stories about the daily life of Ifexas cowboys during the second Centennial Sunday performance at Galveston's Grand 1894 Opera House at 3 p.m. Nov. 9. This production of "Sourdough Cowboy and Sourdough's Tall Tales" is sponsored in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts. These stories are taken from interviews of real-life cowboys during the 1930s, as they relived their life on the range at the turn of the century.

Seen through the eyes of "Sourdough," the spiciest camp cook around, the audience will become a part of this rich history as Sanders "lassoes your heart" with stories about the cowboy's life. And along the way, he accentuates these tales with authentic cowboy songs, accompanied on guitar, spoons, harmonica, and banjo. Light refreshments will be served following this and all Centennial Sunday performances. "Breakfast with Les Bess" is a comedy about the 1960's radio talk shows and their demise. The show is directed by Colin Patterson of Sagemeadow.

Featured in the production are Bruce Blifford, Nick Churchill, Bryan Evan, Ellen Noyes, Holly Sobolik, Gary Mead and Bj Warm in ski. Tickets are $9 ($8 for seniors and students). Clear Creek Country Theatre is in the former banquet room of the Days Inn on NASA Road One, nest to Fuddrucker's. Galveston College is now showing 'Clifflianger' at Galveston's Strand Theatre Lxjne Star Performing Arts Association, in partnership with Galveston College Theatre, is currently presenting James Yaffe's "CMhanger." "Clifflianger" is a comedy- thriller just in time for the Halloween season. A respected college ethics professor and his wife get mixed up with a vindictive department chairwoman, a creepy student intent on blackmail and a suspicious policeman trying to figure out just what's going on.
