LANTANA Precinct 127, Fire Station. in Warsaw Plans Tour WARSAW, Poland (AP) Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski, banned from travel abroad since he angered the Communist authorities in 1965, left by train Monday night for a visit of a month or so to the Vatican. The Roman Catholic primate, travelling with two bishops and two aides, was seen off by 800 cheering, singing Catholics. He is to report to Pope Paul VI on the spiritual condition of his dioceses Warsaw and Gniezno. The departure appeared to signal an amnesty in Poland's often aggravated church-state relations. Some sources said, they considered the permission to travel represented an official acknowledgement of silence by the Roman Catholic Church about anti-Semitic developments in the country this year. The cardinal 67, was banned from foreign travel after the Polish bishops addressed a letter of forgiveness and reconciliation to the German bishops during the 1965 Ecumenical Council. Communist authorities accused the cardinal of meddling in foreign affairs and denounced him for suggesting contacts with West Germanv. racial discrimination In hiring or training programs. (AP) President Johnson urged action Monday against noise from all sorts of sources from let engines to starlings and from lawn mowers to rumbling trucks and bathroom facilities. The President also got good word from his economic advisers of "growing evidence that the economy is moving into better balance corner toward price stability." Today the President and Mrs. Johnson plan to vote as usual at Johnson City, 15 miles east of the ranch. If the past is any guide, Johnson will be the first one In town to cast a ballot. Johnson released a report on noise prepared under the direction of the Federal Council for Science and Technology. He challenged Industry, universities and government at various levels to "make a concerted attack on the problem." He said 6 million to 16 million Industrial workers are threatened with the loss of some degree of hearing. The intensity of the assault of noise on people is mounting, he said, adding that more research is needed but some things can done now In noise abatement "Trucks can be designed so he said.
