(We borrowed $23 million dollars from people who have enough faith in our county to believe they'll get paid back.) And we pledged revenue from our state gasoline tax refund money and our airport revenue to pay off the indebtedness over the years a cost that will be LESS now than in years to come because of rising construction and interest rates. Palm Beach County desperately NEEDS additional courthouse and jail facilities because of a 51 population increase in the last 7 years. (We borrowed $7 million dollars from ourselves, on the advice of the best financial experts we could find, and pledged to repay it with an ad valorem bond issueThis way future generations and newcomers to the county who will be using the facilities will share in their expense and save you tax dollars NOW. to FACT . . . this is the way farsighted communities all over the country plan ahead to take care of NORMAL GROWTH and it's not much different from the way most of us plan on financing our home and car.
