LeRoy Collins bearded the lion in his own lair here Thursday as he concentrated on television and radio in an attempt to siphon away votes from his opponent, Rep. Ed Gurney in his home county. He charged Gurney with "not having his whole heart and passion in his work," again taking to Orlandoans Gur-ney's record of absenteeism as the area's congressman. As to the most important Issue, Collins said It had to be the Vietnam war. "I feel we have to find an end to the war. It is not our war and I think we have to gradually fade out of it," he said. "My opponent," he said, "is one of the few extremists who think we should end the war by making It bigger. He has advocated a position which could bring us into war with Russia and China." Earlier in the day Collins started the grueling campaign day by taking a hand-shaking tour through the Pratt & Whitney Plant In Palm Beach county at 7 a.m. He shook over 500 hands and received a warm welcome from most. One man courteously shook his hand and said he was glad to see him, saying "but I'm sorry, governor, I'm going to vote for Gurney." "You can't get all the votes, I guess," Collins said good na-turedly. Rotarians Scolded For Walking Out TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A University of Arizona official scolded fellow members Wednesday when 14 Rotarians walked out on a hippie speaker. Marvin Johnson, university vice president, told the gathering, "I don't agree with him, but as our Invited guest he is entitled to be heard courteously, and Instead of hearing his story, we have abused him." The members walked out when former Berkeley student Stan Orman began an attack on The Establishment.
