Galther said a decision on which team faces his Rattlers will be made within the next 10 days. "There are a number of excellent ball clubs eligible for selection In the classic this year," Galther said. The classic, to be played Dec. 7 In Miami's Orange Bowl, has been previously an all-Negro bowl game, but there's a possibility it could match white and Negro teams this year. One of the colleges being considered by Galther Is the University of Tampa, a predominantly white institution that has a football record of 5-1. Galther said other teams being considered are Morgan State of Baltimore, 5-1; Maryland State, 5-1; Alabama State 6-0, end Alcorn A & M of Lorman, Miss., 5-1. "Because of the outstanding record of teams listed the choice of an opponent is not so simple. But we do plan to watch all opponents closely and make a decision within the next 10 days," Gaither said. FAMU founded the bowl and promotes It each year.
