"' ' jftur Se rjv Everyone Jack Lord from his 'Book 'em' days on Hawaii Five-0 (left), but what was the name of the show in which he played a rodeo star? By Jay Bobbin Special to Vie Palm Beach Post Q: Can you tell me if the show Hillerand Diller is coming back? A: Actually, it's been back for a few weeks, but not where you're probably accustomed to finding it. Previously seen on Tuesdays, the Richard Lewis-Kevin Nealon comedy has been added to ABC's Friday-night "T.G.I.F." lineup, where it follows Boy Meets World and double episodes of Sab-rina, the Teenage Witch. Q: Before Hawaii Five-O, Jack Lord was in a western series as a rodeo star. What was the name of the show, and who played his sidekick? A: The series was called Stoney Burke, as was Lord's character, which aired on ABC during the 1962-63 season. Burke's main comrade was played by Robert Dowdell Gater a co-star of Voyage to the Bottom of Brotherhood was finished, teaching TV executives another lesson. Q: What is the name of the original host of The Dating Game? A: It's Jim Lange, and he was a Los Angeles disc jockey when he became nationally known for asking female contestants to choose between "bachelor number one, bachelor number two or bachelor the Sea), and Bruce Dern and Warren Oates also were cast regulars. Q: I recently saw the USA Network movie Baby Monitor: Sound of Fear, and I'm sure I know its star, Josie Bissett, from somewhere. I just can't remember exactly where. Can you help? A: She played Jane on Melrose Place, and in an unexpected turn of I Bissett Lange in '73 number three." (The genders were sometimes reversed.) Lange still turns up on TV occasionally, and he did a Dating Game parody on last fall's shortlived UPN comedy Head Over Heels. Q: Why do you choose to show previews for the following week's episodes on some shows but not on others? A: Thanks for the credit, but that's not up to me. The networks make those decisions, and if you don't see a preview at the end of an hour-long series, it's usually for one of several reasons. The show might be preempted the following week, the next week's episode might be a rerun (which networks usually don't like to tip viewers off to), or the next new episode might not have been delivered in time for the network to construct a preview of it. events, she'll be returning to that Fox show when new episodes begin airing this summer. The show's season finale will be presented this Monday, and Bissett is married to one of the current Melrose stars, Rob Estes (alias Kyle). Q: In the late 1980s, there was an NBC minis-eries called Brotherhood of the Rose, which starred Peter Strauss, David Morse and Robert Mitchum. I have never seen it again, and I would like to know if it's possible to purchase a copy. A: The drama was condensed from its original four-hour length to two hours and released on the Vidmark Home Video label, so you can ask a local tape dealer to order it for you. Brotherhood marked the first time and, to date, the last time a network followed a Super Bowl with the first half of a miniseries. NBC obviously hoped that big ratings for the opening portion would carry over to the next night's conclusion, but the saga began so late after the finale of the championship game, the Nielsen numbers plunged.
