Children in grades K-3 are encouraged to send in their stories strange, true or invented to be judged by their local PBS stations. Entries will be judged according to grade level on originality, creative expression, storytelling and integration of copy and illustrations. A panel of local educators will select winners whose entries will go on to the national contest. "This is a real grass-roots effort to inspire kids to use their imaginations," said Robert Mako-vicka, one of KidVision's producers. "It's another way we can show kids that reading and writing are not only important, but also fun." To enter, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to KidVision co WPBT Channel; 2, 14901 N.E.
