J"kJ 0. fc. 4C THE PALM BEACH POST THURSDAY, MARCH 26, 1998 ft c Spotlight's on... Tony Graffanino, Atlanta Braves With mainstay Mark Lemke gone, the righthander will get a chance to platoon with left-handed hitting Keith Lockhart at second base. It shouldn't be too big of an adjustment for the 25-year-old though. He saw significant playing time at the end of last season Lemke tore ligaments in his right ankle on Aug. 20. Around the horn Maybe he can be a bat boy y The Indians released former NL All-Star Carlos Garcia ; on Wednesday, but manager Mike Hargrove isn't completely down on him. "We looked at Carlos at the second-base position and felt we had better talent ahead of him. We looked at him in a utility role and y felt the same thing. He was good in the clubhouse 'I and good on the field. He just didn't fit here." 'A 1 J I'm not one of those who believes the grass is always greener somewhere else. I've heard about ' players who wish they'd never left their teams when they had a good thing going." CHUCK FINLEY, Angels pitcher, who is entering his 12th season with the team. In six innings Yoshii, who is trying to earn a spot in the Mets starting rotation, gave up five hits and two runs while striking out two. Mets manager Bobby Valentine said the fifth spot in the starting rotation remains undecided. "(Yoshii) looks like what he was advertised to be," Valentine said.
