The Youth Orchestra of Palm Beach County raised more than $20,000 at its "Bach to the Future with Rising Stars" gala concert and silent auction. The event took place at Old School Square in Delray Beach. Guest stars were former Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell and honorary chairman Will Ray, president and chief executive officer of the Palm Beach County Cultural Council. Janet Harris-Lange is YOPBC president. The 180 musicians in the Youth Orchestra presented an "In Orbit Concert" featuring its string, symphony and philharmonic orchestras. Chamber groups provided entertainment during the silent auction. Philharmonic orchestra flu-test Daniel Stein, 15, of Sun-coast High School, was the featured concert soloist. V - Junior League Sustainers raise $40,000 at event The Sustainers of the Junior League of the Palm Beaches raised about $40,000 at their annual Meeting and Fundraising Luncheon at Mar-A-Lago. Money raised will be used for the league's projects. Mondi of Worth Avenue was the event's major underwriter. The shop also provided informal modeling of its spring collection.
