What if you just discovered a terrific software program and you want to share it with family, friends and co-workers? Is this legal or ethical? The answer to both questions is no. Copying and sharing software is known as "software piracy." Software piracy is any unauthorized use of computer software. This problem costs the software industry more than $10 billion in lost revenue each year, and it costs U.S. businesses millions in fines and legal fees.
