Lebanon , BEIRUT - Warring Christians' and Moslems lobbed artillery fire on each other yesterday in a duel between towns a few miles from the Israeli border. Moslem leftists and Palestinian guerrillas in Bint Jbeil, who exchanged fire with Christians in Ain Ebel, accused Israel of providing across-the-border artillery support for the rightists in the area 75 miles south of Beirut. There were no reports of casualties in the overnight battle. Israel openly has built up its border guard of heavily armed troops and tanks during the past two weeks in the area, which it sees as a threatened staging point for commando raids into the Jewish state. None of the 35,000 Arab peacekeeping troops that have halted Christian-Moslem strife across most of Lebanon have been sent to the Israeli border region. President Elias Sarkis again postponed sending them south, awaiting settlement of the disarmament dispute among the rival militias and guerrilla factions.
