Shoemaker, who played only seven minutes in Friday's 107-94 loss to Miami-Dade South because of foul trouble, led the Pacers to a decisive edge in rebounding, and scored several quick layups to give PBJC a 12-point lead early in the first half. "Shoemaker is just a tremendous player," Ceravolo said. "He only played a few minutes against Dade-South and it was really tough without him. "We were able to get the ball into him and he put it up," Ceravolo said. "He also did a real good job on the boards." Besides Shoemaker's game-leading total, PBJC had six other players in double figures. Bruce Hlatky was next with 18 points, followed by Mike Bennett, Derrick Paul and Adrian Williams, all with 12. Shack Leonard and Bill Buchanan added 11 and 10, respectively. "That's the kind of balance we have to have to win," Ceravolo said. "That's exactly the way the scoring should be. Everybody took a shot." The game was never in doubt, the Pacers holding a 24-point margin at one point in the second half. The Pioneers' only threat came with less than two minutes to play in the first half when they moved to within 16 points. But Hlatky and Leonard combined for 10 quick points to give the Pacers a comfortable halftime lead. PBJC displayed an explosive fast break offense for much of the game, but also played effective, deliberate offense where it was necessary. "If we had to analyze our game the last two nights, we would have to say we were not deliberate enough against Dade-South but we were more deliberate tonight. Dunning started his hot-shooting from the first quarter when he scored 10 of MacArthur's 15 first-quarter points, while Boca Raton managed only 10 in that period. In the second quarter, Boca Raton rallied with 24 points to MacArthur's 14. Bobcat Ron Green was high scorer in that quarter with 11 points, helping to put the Bobcats slightly ahead 32-29 at the half. The contest seemed like a repeat' of last year's game between the two schools in the third when neither could get enough points to take a clear lead. MacArthur turned on the speed in the final minutes, with Dunning finishing as he had started by putting up eight points, most of them outside jump shots. Dan Kiffen helped with six points. The Bobcats failed to profit from six last-quarter steals, allowing MacArthur t keep their nine-point lead for the win.
