BIO Palm Beach Post-Times, Sunday, December 5, 1976 I Rock Star Bolin Found Dead j R. KAUFMAN JEWELERS MIAMI BEACH (UPI) - Rock music star Thomas Richard Bolin, 25, was found dead in his Miami Beach hotel room early yesterday, less than eight hours after he completed a concert appearance at the Miami Jai-Alai Fronton, police said. An autopsy was underway to determine the cause of the death of the Sioux City, Iowa, musician, a former member of the "Deep Purple" rock group. However, police said there was no suspicion of foul play. Friends said Bolin had been drinking heavily follow ing the Friday night performance. They said he retired about 2 a.m. yesterday. At 3 a.m., Bolin's girlfriend Valoria Monzeglio and two members of his band found him semiconscious on the floor of the bathroom of his room in Miami Beach's Newport Resort Motel. They helped him back to his bed but did not summon medical attention. Miss Monzeglio said she found him dead at 7 a.m. She called police and fire rescue squad units. 1 -JL INVEST IN BEAUTY lS Beach.
